There are bigger problems then closed ski areas in the pac nw

Here is the flood statement for the river in my hometown. It doesn't look good :( Especially for the upriver communities that got nailed in the fall 2003 flood.

True, true... Made a call to the folks in rural Thurston Co. and they had trouble getting out of the driveway this morning and are expecting to be displaced for the next couple of days.

On the local (Vancouver BC) news there was a film crew at flooded road yesterday. A woman in a minvan ignored the "closed due to flood" signs and drove until her van floated away.

A reporter was standing in a pond/parking lot in Vancouver. She was wearing chest waders. It was barely enough. It would have been cool to send a dive team to the underground parking lot next door.

I heart weather.

not surprising - every creek from Sumas to Bellingham looked on the rise yesterday - and there was more snow to melt :cussing:

They just had a two houses swept away in Vancouver in a mudslide this morning.
