If I did the morning snow report

How come everyone who does the snow report in the morning is so danged happy? If I had to get up at 5:15 every morning, it would sound something like this. (Caution: bad language.)

"Yeah. Um, good morning, it's 5:30 and I really hope you appreciate this fucking snow report because my eyes are still stuck shut and my mouth tastes like an ashtray. What the fuck hill is this again? Kirkwood. Thanks for calling Kirkwood. Todays weather update is...OW FUCK SHIT I just stubbed my toe on the doorframe OH JESUS ow ow ow... OK, there's an 80% chance of timeshares today, seriously, it's fucking dark and all I can see out my window is condos, how the hell am I supposed to know what the weather is on the hill? All we do is pull up Yahoo weather and call 427-ROAD and read it back to you anyway. You can do that yourself, fuck you, I'm going back to sleep. Try not to drive off the road."

They're happy because they were up early and got first tracks with Patrol!

When I lived at Squaw, I did the snowphone for a few months. When there wasn't new snow, the weather was almost always forecasted to be sunny and warm, which energized my report a bit. But when it was a powder day, I really got into it, sometimes letting out a "Woooo!!!! We're looking at two feet of FRESH POWDER TODAY!! WOOOOO!!!" I couldn't help it. Recording the snow phone was a blast - even at 4am.

hell yeah! i have always wanted to do the snow report @ Alpine, as the peeps they have doing it over the last few years suck....as much as we all poke fun at TC over at Kweed, i still think he does one of the better snow phone reports around...a bit long winded and self congratulatory ("..as usual, Kirkwood has the best, deepest lightest snow in the Tahoe region..yadda yadda"), but that's his job too, to get peeps pumped to come out to the hill (besides the usual hard corps)....

Anyway, have a fantasy of one day taking over the snow phone for Alpine and making it entertaining +and+ informative...

The best thing to do is become friends with the people who do the snowphone. then you can create codes with them, like they round to even numbers of snowfall if it's really good or odd numbers if it's kinda shitty. then make them promise to say it's actually less snow then what they really got on the deep days to keep the rest of the fuckers off the hill.
