11/9/03: First Pow day of the season....
And it sure does feel good:D . Thanks to an inside tip, got to break out the fatties and skins for 1,500 vert of untracked boot deep fluff today. It's amazing what windloading can do with a below average snowpack! It's always good to get that first powder day out of the way, now I can relax a little more:)

Pure bliss...
Standing on top of that beautiful snowfield I was wondering if I could ski it like it deserved. Mmmmm, the first turn told me everything was just fine. Sink and rise...
It was deeper than boot deep though - closer to knee deep, up top anyway. Well worth the major freaking core shot I took. So much better than anything lift served. Good weather, good snow, good friends, good exercise. A day very well spent.
We weren't the first ones to get it though. A friend of mine bootpacked up there last Friday and told us about it. There've gotta be other wind created places like that around the state now. Scouting is in order.
I bet a lot of the pics won't come out. I drained the battery leaving the flash on. We'll see.
I love your skis, man.
sour grapes for the troll
