Last year it was 6 feet of snow over Xmas (plus more the following week) in Utah, then 5 feet at Mammoth and Tahoe over New Years. Who knows what this year has planned. Just have the gear ready and the car gassed.
Of course if I surfed, that Costa Rica deal sounds pretty damn cool.
$311, take a cab and save a couple hundred.
Road trip to the rockies. Hit Ala Moana Bowls in the summer.

I'd go for an epic road trip. Somewhwere is bound to be getting snow that week, and you're no more than a day's drive from most places in the west. Gas up the car, check the forecasts, and head for wherever the snow is going (Washington? CA? UT? WY? NM?). The resort hotels will be booked solid, but you should have no problems finding lodging in nearby towns.
Do the ski trip thing!! Chase the storms!!! Lets plan a Costa trip when the southren hemi swells kick in!!!
