    Talking Week off from Xmas-New Year

    I gots a week of free vacation from Dec 24-Jan 2. Where do I go after the mandatory Family Xmas stuff?

    Hmmm....
    Costa Rica $311.
    Oahu $700 to surf the big waves of da North Shore and enter the Pipeline Classic.
    or Road trip the CA coast for surf.....


    Or do I go ski somewhere?
    Vancouver $400
    Slut LAke City $233 (or road trip)
    Cham $2,691.03 SFO-GVA Fuck That!!!

    Barrels or Powder...hmmmmmm...

    Last year it was 6 feet of snow over Xmas (plus more the following week) in Utah, then 5 feet at Mammoth and Tahoe over New Years. Who knows what this year has planned. Just have the gear ready and the car gassed.

    Of course if I surfed, that Costa Rica deal sounds pretty damn cool.

    I'd go for an epic road trip. Somewhwere is bound to be getting snow that week, and you're no more than a day's drive from most places in the west. Gas up the car, check the forecasts, and head for wherever the snow is going (Washington? CA? UT? WY? NM?). The resort hotels will be booked solid, but you should have no problems finding lodging in nearby towns.
