A nice post-kayak-in-Drake's Estero meal. They varied between raw and overdone (hey, we were busy eating them and couldn't take care of all of them at once) over a nice fire. I don't know if I should put a :D because it kicked ass at the time, or a :eek: because my stomach is currently doing some fun gymnastics.
Make sure to drink lots of Vodka with that kinda meal - maybe you'll kill a few stray bacteria + being drunk takes your mind off the quesy stomach!

oh god to i love oysters, especially raw, especially Kumamotos...
but last time i ate em, within 24hrs i had terrible stomach pains...
then i proceeded to shit water for 4 days....not fun...
you shit! did you have them at Hog Island? I hate you!!!

Hmmm... that's what I had this weekend. Jay's Oyster Bar. 4 to 6 happy hour, free oysters. Yum.
Edit: wow! 40? I did about 48 (4 plates at Jay's) once. owweee.
we put in at Johnson's so we just grabbed them from there. Our friends live up on top of the hill behind Inverness so we went up there to enjoy the wine, cheese, fire, and wonderful view. They also had some sort of "book for oysters" deal (they wrote a Pt. Reyes book) so these suckers ended up being pretty much free! Lucky us...I think. Gurgle gurgle.
Drake's Estero was super pretty today, but there weren't many seals or birds around to gawk at.
