Help! Urban adrenal release assistance needed...
OK doods. Need some help here. As you can see from the "Huck" thread...I'm starting to get "itchy"...
I need some adrenaline but this city is so FUCKING FLAT I can't even ride my longboard in traffic (which is what I did in Boston). I have been biking and working out to angry music, but that just doesn't cut it...I have a kite surfing sail and harness, but no board yet, so that's out...took my longboard to the skate park last weekend, not enough speed. Skydiving is too expensive, there is no snow on the landfills, the high dive at the gym is not open to the public, road biking without hills sucks, and there are no trampoline training centers nearby...FACK!
Usually I would just get super drunk and that numbs the need for a bit, but with school and shit I can't afford to be really hungover.
One idea that might work is getting really herbal and taking the longboard to a parking deck...BTW I'm in Chicago.
HELP!

thats why they invented your new passtime -- BASE jumping! enjoy. add skis later and give mcconk a run for his money.
(i lived in chicago for 3 years. after you get past the sadness of waking up from dreams of the rocky mountain front range appearing right behind the chicago skyline, you start making flight reservations. there is no pain like digging your car out of 3 feet of snow you cant ski on. GET OUT!!!)

And now you know precisely why the midwest sucks so bad.

And now you know precisely why people in Chicago drink so much :)
Outside magazine did a story about a year ago about places to go to get away from the city and do outdoorsy stuff. I'm pretty sure Chicago was in there, but I can't seem to find the story on their web site. If you can find the story I'm sure you could get a couple ideas.
