Question Help! Urban adrenal release assistance needed...

OK doods. Need some help here. As you can see from the "Huck" thread...I'm starting to get "itchy"...

I need some adrenaline but this city is so FUCKING FLAT I can't even ride my longboard in traffic (which is what I did in Boston). I have been biking and working out to angry music, but that just doesn't cut it...I have a kite surfing sail and harness, but no board yet, so that's out...took my longboard to the skate park last weekend, not enough speed. Skydiving is too expensive, there is no snow on the landfills, the high dive at the gym is not open to the public, road biking without hills sucks, and there are no trampoline training centers nearby...FACK!

Usually I would just get super drunk and that numbs the need for a bit, but with school and shit I can't afford to be really hungover.

One idea that might work is getting really herbal and taking the longboard to a parking deck...BTW I'm in Chicago.

    HELP!

    Drunk driving on Lakeshore Drive?
    Drunk longboarding at rush hour?
    18-holes of golf on acid?

Welcome to my world. You could always get married and have a couple of kids.

Otherwise, I have done the parking garage longboard deal and it's pretty fun -good to have someone to go with though.

Golf is fun, although it sort of makes you feel even more pathetic.

What I do is post here on the board, go to weather cams, plan trips, look at gear, etc...

    aaarrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....it's hopeless.

Too late to bodily get in the way of the Cubs winning the NL pennant so get a shirt that says "Ditka Smokes Pole" and hit up a Bears game.

there has got to be a better way.

b.a.s.e. jumping really would be perfect. apparently you need 250+ skydives to even consider it though, which is way way more than i can afford in time or money...

thats why they invented your new passtime -- BASE jumping! enjoy. add skis later and give mcconk a run for his money.

(i lived in chicago for 3 years. after you get past the sadness of waking up from dreams of the rocky mountain front range appearing right behind the chicago skyline, you start making flight reservations. there is no pain like digging your car out of 3 feet of snow you cant ski on. GET OUT!!!)

do you ever go running? could be a good way to shake off any dust while getting a workout and way to check out different parts of the city. as your attorney, i advise you to get herbal and just run for a while until you're lost, then find your way back differently than yer original route. keep a few bills in your shoe in case you need to buy a bus or "el" fare or some fluids.

Go to Strictly Business tomorrow night and mix it up with the locals. It's a step joint on the south side, and the people are super nice and into introducing lily white JONGs to step, which is like line dancing to R&B and Hip-Hop.

Then get a shortboard and go street skating.

Hook up with Shredhead - he goes waterskiing every weekend - I've got a wakeboard that you can borrow when you go.

Also, open invite here in St. Louis, where I seem to have found a couple of things to stay occupied - we'll have some fun if you come down.

    Breakfast club flashback:

Bender: Well, I don't know any lepers either but I'm not gonna run out and join one of their fuckin' clubs.

Andrew: Lets watch the mouth, huh?

Brian: I'm in the physics club.

Bender: Excuse me a sec. What are you babbling about?

Brian: Well, what I said was that I'm in the math club, the latin club and the physics club.

And now you know precisely why the midwest sucks so bad.

And now you know precisely why people in Chicago drink so much

Outside magazine did a story about a year ago about places to go to get away from the city and do outdoorsy stuff. I'm pretty sure Chicago was in there, but I can't seem to find the story on their web site. If you can find the story I'm sure you could get a couple ideas.

brit: base jumping is too expensive...but perfect...maybe in a few years...

karl: we should hang out soon

bill: left mountain bike at home...jumping stairs would be all i could use it for here in pancake land

climbing walls and strippers to fill in the gaps...

    "adrenal release assistance needed..."

LOL at your title dude...trust me, you don't want an "adrenal release", not unless you want to be on corticosteroid replacement therapy for the rest of your life.

What about some urban bike riding. Take your road bike (or better yet one of those messenger bikes) out during rush hour and race traffic. I'm pretty sure that would get you going.
