I'm faced with a decision....
Sell the current quiver:
176 Scratch BCs w/ look p14 maxplates
170 Bandit XXs w/ noname rossis
+$$$
and buy 186 Legend Pros for next season?
Unanimous answer will prolly be: YES. I figured as much. But will it be worth the extra $$ I would have to throw in to it?

I don't know, have you skied them? How do you like your current quiver? It really depends.
Have not skied the legend pros. I have skied xploders, g4s, etc. and based on reviews it seems that this comes from the burlier breed of skis, which i like
Current quiver is :-/. I like the scratches but am utterly, completely sick of rossignol durability. Also, the scratches i am on are too short and do not provide enough float to really mach in pow... I skied the bandits for a total of 2 days this year on pure hardpack/ice days and from what I've heard the legend pros should have better edge grip neways.... bandits are not an issue really
Seldon, where are you skiing now?
Ive skied with tons of folks at Sugarbush and MRG on the Legend Pros(the entire town of waitsfield owns them) and they all say they rock for east coast tree bashing.
But if you are out east you might want to save the XXs or have something else so you wont destroy the legends so quickly, and to use when the snow is less than epic.
i skied a 186 Legend Pro demo, a normally ski a 195 rossi sidewall blowing XXX. Did not like the 186, but next year they come out in a 194, that might turn me on.
I'm based in San Francisco and ski mostly kirkweed and alta (my breaks). I'd love to have a pair of "rock skis" but at this point I don't think I can afford "rock skis" as well as a pair of good skis... Otherwise I'd keep the XXs for those early days...
I'd say consolidate to the Legends then, and wait until mtnlion has some cheapo fatties to pick up.
I don't care were you ski, you almost always have to have a pair of rock boards to start the season. If you don't the legends would become them pretty quick.Quote:

I skied the Pro's last weekend at Snowbird and they are a great ski. But they weren't that great early, but it was fkn hard! Later after it softened they carved all types of turns and were still stable at speed.
i rode the 194 lp's all year... it is alot of ski, no shit
i would have liked the 186 so i coulda been a little more versatile- skiing trees (ec) was really really challenging on the 194's
other then that they rock.

Well, if you look at Example A - Legend Pros, and Example B - Pocket Rockets, you'll see that the Blue Noodles have been designed with thinner tips and tails, which greatly reduces the swing weight. The LPs, on the other hand, don't really give a shit about swing weight, because #1 - you shouldn't be skiing them on the east coast, and #2 - they'll choke a robot bitch out like Wayne Brady.
8cms of length is a ton different than 7 mm of waist difference, IMO, especially with swing weight in trees and whatnot.
i think if you're sick of a shorts piece of shit rossi the dynastar is your ski. 186 would be fine in the trees and those things are fucking bomber. screw rossi.
wouldn't you like to demo karmas before buying legends? be patient. I made a mistake last year when I bought B2..... without demoing B3 :mad:
The Karmas are volkls, and narrower.... Too narrow (thinner than my scratches). I'm probably going to wait to buy the Legends until I get a chance to demo them at the beginning of next season anyways....Quote:
