In the latest news from the bankruptcy case of Diamond Sports (AKA Bally Sports), in court today Diamond announced, to MLB's complete surprise, that it intends to drop every team it carries on its networks except the Atlanta Braves.

Trying to watch baseball in this country is already hard enough, now over a 3rd of the league will be affected by this news by having to find a new broadcast partner, likely at lower rates which equates to lower payrolls and less ability to sign free agents.

The gap grows wider...

Paid the extra $5 to add espn+ only to find out you can only watch it with an eligible tv provider. Maybe MLB's viewership numbers wouldn't suck so bad if they didn't make it such a god damn headache to watch games.

On Aug. 11, the Detroit Tigers were 55-63 and 10 games out of a playoff spot, with a 0.2% chance to make the postseason.

They are 33-13 since and just swept the Astros to make the ALDS.

Don’t get me started. I pay for this out of market package yet it doesn’t work for the postseason? The radio call does thankfully.

That said I spend half the year trying to figure out why the game I paid to watch is unavailable if God forbid the team I pay for is in my town, or on another network/service.

I don't do MLB.tv but what y'all describe is just like NBA TV, you pay that service to get regular season games but once the playoffs start and games are on national broadcasts, it doesn't work and you have to get regular cable, youtubeTV, or Sling.

It was a few years ago...got Sling for a Montana football game on ESPN2, the pos app would not cast, so had to get fubo or some other app. Logged a complaint and they said I still had to pay for the month, so pulled a dispute with credit card which was honored and they didn't get paid, and Sling froze my account.

Just an FYI, MLB TV is free if you have TMobile. I wasn’t going to buy it this year, but this was an easy way to get access to it.

Sort of a bitch to get set up but worth it.

Was pretty easy for me, but I have the stupid "t life" app, have to VPN on a computer to see in market games (app uses cell phone gps).

Ha, looks like I need FS1 for next games, so have to add blue sling plan.
