Trewth Bibs on sale for $279 on their site FYI. Been wearing mine for about 6 years with a return in the middle due to the crotch wearing out but the new ones have held up great.

Thanks. I actually have their old Neoshell ones and loved them for the fit and material. Asked about how different their new Aerobrane material is.

The lack of inner vents is what keeps me away. I had an older pair and got too hot on boot packs. The material is nice, though. Looked at the Capow bib but heard the material is a little too light weight for daily resort use.

My brothers in the quest for bibs, I think I've found mine.

    Backcountry Cardiac Pro Bibs
    https://www.backcountry.com/backcoun...-bib-pant-mens

    1. Gore tex pro
    2. Inner and outer leg vents
    3. High bib top with enough storage
    4. Stretch panel on bib top to help with expanding girth
    5. Baggy enough for layers

    Potential issues
    1. Not really articulated fit
    2. No lower cuff zipper/snaps for boots. They are flared enough it shouldn't be an issue.

    This is based on
    1. Bedroom fit. Will do on snow later this week.
    2. I'm about 10# heavier than my usual due to health issues in the fall. Will fit better as I get back to normal weight.

I'm in a size L that I picked up for $200 off ebay. There's not much left in stock and I don't know if this style will come back next year. That said, I'm stoked that I think I have what I'm looking for.

How baggy are the cuff? My ski spacing from the 90s means baggy cuffs insta shred on me. Most newer pants I have tried on are massively flared compared to my old arcteryx that fit perfectly over my low volume boot cuffs.

Doesn't seem too bad, but will be able to report more on Friday. The inseam is not crazy long, dragging on the ground. They also have pretty burly material on the cuffs both on the instep and all around the inside of the cuffs.

Happy to report that I have found my bibs. The Cardiacs worked out great today. The cuffs are just the right size for boots without feeling like bell bottoms. The dual vents worked great when I was sidestepping in the Alpental backcountry. They will be absolutely perfect once I get rid of these extra pounds, but they still worked great in my plump state.

My Norrona lofotens (non pro) came today. Fit is decent if a touch snug through the butt and thighs and the vent sipper hits me in th back of the knee when I bend my legs. Material is nice but cuffs are still a bit baggier than I think is ideal. Close but not selling the $500 price tag once I add the bib part. I need to try on the pros or pro plus since that might be better.
My arcteryx thetas are just a bit roomier through the upper left and smugger down low that make them perfect. Why can’t anyone match a 17 yo product?
Do any Whistler shops carry the higher end Norrona or the elevenate that I could potentially try them on when I’m there in a couple weeks? I expect I can find some new arcteryx to try on up there easily.

Norrona pro plus compared to Elevenate - Norrona is a bit slimmer through the waist, seat and legs. I can wear an xl or L Elevenate but only an XL Norrona pro plus. I’d say the fit of Elevenate stuff in general is a bit better than Norrona (for me at least) but that the pro plus pant is better overall - it’s just the best ski pant I’ve seen.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Grabbed the cardiac pros and price matched steep and cheap down to 230 total delivered. Arrived today, cut is noticeably narrower than the cottonwoods and the best fit I have tried on, still not as perfect as my thetas but seems functional.
The vents and pockets are nicely done as is the material. A waist cinch would be nice but for the price I think these are winners.

Nice! What size did you go with. I'm pretty stoked on them. The legs vented perfect for me when I was sidestepping out in the BC.

I came across this thread while researching bibs/pants. People spoke highly of the Norronas so I looked them up and was disappointed to see that they don't seem to have additional material inside the cuff. Have you guys had issues with that area cutting/wearing out?

My older Lofoten pro bibs (2017?) are pretty shredded at the cuff. The actual cuff material is pretty thick, but not a lot of extra backing behind that. BUT I'm in a medium (6', 170) that fit long on me and they're sitting down right on my edges. My Sabre LT bibs, not as long, but with as many or more days, have no holes.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't get why Norrona wouldn't put reinforced material on the inside cuff on such pricey pants/bibs. I almost pulled the trigger but will keep searching. I don't generally have issues cutting my pants (1 slice in 4 years on my current pair) with my edges but for the price I'm willing to pay, I'd like whatever I buy to last.

Flylow Baker bibs are 50% off at REI right now. I really like the fit of mine got them in the short version as the regular length (34" i think) usually bunches up too much at the boot for me so they aren't getting beat up in the cuff area at all plus the reinforcement is good down there.

Newer "pro plus" lofoten bibs have a reinforced material on the inside cuff, but its not great. Seen some other brands go to sturdier options.

Got some flylow baker bibs for $215 from backcountry gear. Went with the xl as the larges were a little tight in the midsection and i wouldnt consider myself that fat. The XLs fit pretty good, a little more baggy than my Large trewths.

Crotch on my trewth bibs was always a little tight and they wore out there but otherwise they were solid over the last 3 seasons. Would have bought them again probably but couldnt find black in my size.

Do the baker bibs fit the same as the chemical pants? I had a pair of the pants some years back, trying to confirm sizing on bibs.

So---I pulled in Norrona, Strafe, and Trew. In general they all pretty much look the same to me on paper and perhaps this is all just "luck of the draw" on quality these days. But curious to know what the collective says.

Flylow still good quality stuff? Or should I take a look somewhere else.
    Which exact models from each?

6 pages on how to fix your own fucking gear, I got a pict on the first page of some super light weight arcterxy shells with 3 doz edge cuts but you probably wouldn't notice them

Second on Trew! I really dug their Capow bibs this season, esp for bc. For hot laps, the thigh pockets are great for quickly stashing skins.
    Sizing though... I'm 6'1 180 and I somehow wear a Small/regular inseam
