Ripping skier? Fer sure, and more. What's not to like?

Maybe Toadman should watch that video.

I’m starting to think she may have more of a chance than we think. She is cute. And I’m not saying this to be demeaning. Look at Colorado, they’ve continued to elect a borderline retard (Boebert) largely because she’s attractive. If she was ugly she’d have no chance. And I can say confidently that Caroline is far more intelligent. So who knows?

Nah, I think she was getting elected on speaking the peoples language of her constituents. Guns, and dey took our jerbs. I live on the western slope now, and have traveled around to places like Pueblo. I think it’s more the message than the image. Just look at Marjory Taylor Green. Same a brick without being the trailer park beauty pageant winner. Maybe boeberts looks worked on her trainers/handlers but I don’t think it won her votes.

"She's ripping around abasin! So hot!"
"That wasn't ripping and she has no platform or political quals."
"Well she chose to ski abasin on 700g skimo shit sticks for some reason that is beyond the understanding of mere mortals... and she wants to save the planet!"

Gotta say not very convinced of the political bonofides here...

She has no chance. Not because she isn't qualified (no idea what that means), doesn't have the skills (no clue), can't raise money and get out votes (no clue), is not a man, and it certainly has nothing to do with her bonafides as a skier. She has no chance because she's a Democrat. Running for statewide office in Utah. Full stop.

It’s just so irritating to hear about year after year. Is she really, truly cared, she’d stay in Utah and ski and make a living there. I cannot imagine she’ll connect with anyone outside of the SLC ski/snowboard bubble in Utah for these reasons alone, but I wish her the best.

Yah. She was brilliant and understood the issues up down and sideways, which you realized if you ever really listened to her talk at length. Would have made a great president. I think Romney would have made a great president too. Super smart problem solver, despite the religious stuff. Why in America do we get such shitfuck choices like Biden v Trump? It's so so frustrating.

Political tradition and oligarchy amongst them. Neither really listen to “ We the people “…

Maybe that’s where the likes of Jesse Ventura, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Caroline Gleich…being initially political “outsiders” could be/are refreshing to the traditional slum of suits spewing the same old robotic shit.

I like Jesse Ventura, always have, and I voted for him. I regret that decision because once in office he appointed unqualified people to run the government, much the same as one of the current parties who seems bent on gutting and blowing up our institutions or if they can't do that simply making them dysfunctional by appointment.

I think that is the disconnect. Most of us want a government that functions and is run by competent people. But we want our elected officials to be fresher and able to comprehend and adopt policies that reflect our current reality, not a 1950's reality.

Great pod lately, can't remember where, on how candidates used to be elected in backroom party deals swirling in cig smoke but b/c of that they put out more electable general election candidates. But the switch to the primary system drives extremist candidates on both sides to satisfy the base maniacs who actually vote in primaries. Counter intuitive

so someone had that idea, presented it to others, and the group collectively said yeah, lets run with this. then they went through the process of making that, watched it a few times, maybe tweaked it a little, and eventually said, yeah, lets run with this. absolutely baffling to me.

    It's fine.

it's a tiktok thing, not targeted to boomers that post on tgr.

it's worth throwing something at that demographic that watches tiktok/reels. It's also made for social media not any actual tv station/radio.

Unless your bone to pick is that it's about 4 weeks too late as the lifecycle of a tiktok trend is minute.

    This.

She might be a little geeky and a touch unsophisticated, but AFAIK she’s got to be better than her opposition.
