Do not. Seek. The treasure.
Groomed faces are skiing nice.

Wow, you're not kidding. Was there a big demand for Saturday night skiing? Losing Tuesday and Wednesday nights really sucks for us that can't come up midweek until evening. Losing powder Tuesday sucks, too.
Pricing on the passes is crazy. Early season pricing used to be $550 for unlimited. Now $829? That almost as expensive as an Epic Pass which at least gets you 10 days at Whistler to go with your Stevens skiing.
I was going to get my wife a pass next year, but not at that pricepoint. She would need to ski 12+ days to make it worth it (using my 4 half off vouchers). If summit is selling out of unlimited passes every year, then its no wonder they are jacking up the price.
$299 ikon base add-on... maybe that funnels more folks towards xstal on powder days?
The West/Central/Hyak-only pass was long overdue. As was putting hyak back on the calendar for fridays. I hope the night schedule shift only lasts one year- Getting my kid up to ski midweek for a couple hours after school without the weekend crowds was something i was really looking forward to here in a couple years.
That's not going to happen, but it's likely (hopefully) going to funnel others that way. It's just interesting to watch their pricing strategy in an age of mega passes. While they sold out for the early season Unlimited passes, when they went on sale again, I'm not sure they actually sold out before they took them off sale.
It seems they are trying to steer folks away from Alpental. As I see in the Wasatch thread that their resorts are dead there even as they report 20" and I get notifications that Alpental is parked out by 9:30am on a weekend with no lessons, there's obviously demand for them to keep raising prices.
For weekend warriors who might travel for skiing, the combo of Ikon with a Remedy pass would likely work pretty well.
IMO price increases were inevitable since the demand is extremely high and they have the closest skiing to Seattle. At least it is coming with some additional service/improvements although less midweek night skiing is bananas since the weekend crowds are already over capacity, and it provided an alternative time to ski.
It's like when Comcast emails you to tell you they increased your speeds. Like, that's nice, but you know a price increase is coming.
Pre-kids me would have been in favor of it, but now, between touring days and days spent skiing with my littles, I'll barely get enough proper Alpental days to justify a full pass.
I have nothing nice to say so I'll day nothing at all

No Wednesday nights at alpental is a huge bummer, that has been a chunk of my days the past few winters. Might need to evaluate the pass plan and consider moving to Stevens plus a lower level pass since we have a Whistler trip planned.
Night skiing plus alpental lessons had me get my moneys worth on an unlimited but if I loose the nights the math changes.
This is how they are going to pay off that sweet new chair that takes Jer straight past the Ole High T squirrel catcher. I look forward to hearing about all the additional carnage that takes place because Upper International and the demanding entrance to the High T are no longer factors.
If they are gonna charge that much for a season pass, Alpi needs to be open at least 6 days a week for as long as there is snow. Shutting down mid-week in March every year is ridiculous.
You will get nothing and be happy!

But you got Hyak on Fridays now.
Luckily it says that for all passes. I'm assuming it means paid parking/parking reservations are coming. Curious how it will work for Ikon passes who hold a form of Summit Pass. With a couple trips to Utah planned, I was looking at Ikon plus Remedy pass. That way I have 7 weekend/holiday days plus unlimited nights/midweek. That's plenty for me.
Looks like there is an ikon add on to the unlimited pass which is not crazy priced.
