My wife and her lady friends do a shit ton of wine tasting and spend a shit ton of money..... My parents are in their 70's and do a few trips every year down the valley wine touring over a few days, again spending a ton. These are all locals as well. I don't like wine too much and would rather spend it on boat gas.

Same with Mountain biking and beer over here. Big growth in trails and small town breweries. Going to tout Salmo again. Eerie creek brewing, and some great pedal up trails.

Big fan. The one's on the ski hill all funnel back down to the parking lot, so you can go with a mixed crew, pedal up together, then send it at your level and meet for another lap or beer...

I travelled there from NB in 2022 with my wife and mother in law. A big selling point was the fact they could do wine tasting while I rode my mountain bike.

They enjoyed mission hill, I enjoyed the trails.

Weddings at Mission hill were a thing back then amongst folks we knew, Mission Hill didn't charge for using the tasting room and they gave us a nice gift pack of VQA wine for a wedding presy. It was a small wedding so diner at a nice restaurant in the mission was < 500 $

Back then there was a tax loophole where if your spouse made no income in the year you could claim 1100 $ on your tax return so a lot of people were getting married in december to claim the deduction which we also did so we actualy made money on the wedding, it was all the rest of it much later that cost

I did manage to make money paying child support also a tax dodge

Hey, my brother lives in Slomo, drives cat at Red. I'll hit you up for a ride this summer. I'm just west at Christina lake. Some good biking and beer around Grand Forks. I rarely take my bike to GF I usually just ride from home.

There's a reasonably new/ old renegade trail network up Hooch Creek, some good pedal up in Ymir about 10 mins away. Beav, now based in Nelson, but be stoked to lug this old carcass up the Salmo trails with you and GFT and anyone else who wants to come.
Christina looks like a good time in the summer, got some friends there, but don't get over much. Morning Mountain in Nelson definitely worth a lap or two as well, although a shuttle is better for that as you can get a way longer ride.

Couldn't agree more! Totally stoked though to see some new stuff and hook up with some mags down south (and east). We should try to organize a little mini bike summit. UkBCyeti, Beav, Eluder way too early to set dates but be great to meet you guys in your natural habitat.

Definitely, GFT. Dates nearer the time. If anyone is coming down through Revy, to get here, I would also recommend a stop at MT Abriel campground. Just north of Nakusp. Fantastic biking again, especially for old guys that keep their wheels mostly on the floor.. Stoked to hav you guys down here!

Annoys the hell out of me the protectionism between provinces. That nonsense means my wine dollars go out of Canada. It is almost as if they are working for the foreign vintners.
