Let kids ski. Sometimes they like the smallest hill the most. Ski with them or have them in a program.

East Coast Roll Call 23/24_The Guns Are Blowing

What is the difference between a casual dinner party and a pirate orgy?

The first one you come as you are. The second, you Arrrr as you cum.

If that doesn’t make it snow, nothing will.

Scott Braaten had this to say for totals about the Sunday/Monday storm. Get some

My initial gut reaction is the first part tomorrow night into Sunday morning delivers 4 – 8” of heavy wet snowfall above 1,500ft at the ski areas. A spot 10” amount is possible in central VT above 3,000ft from the initial SE flow push of moisture.
Then from Sunday evening through midday Monday we are likely looking at another 8 – 12” above 1,500ft on the NW flow bringing totals to 12 – 20” of snowfall on 1.50 – 2.50” SWE. My guess for the 3,000ft High Road Snow Plot on Mansfield would be around 16-18” right now for a storm total for the folks that follow along to those observations

Also as an FYI-i took my daughter to mohawk dec 24 this season and was blown away how good the coverage was on the trails they had open. It was more impressive then many places due north . They do a great job with what they have. Where are you located exactly, many options to keep those kids on snow next winter.

A guy goes into a bar with his pet octopus and says "I bet $50 that no one here has a musical instrument that this octopus can't play."

The people in the bar look around and someone fetches an old guitar.

The octopus has a look, picks it up, tunes up the strings and starts playing the guitar. The octopus's owner pockets the fifty bucks.

Next guy comes up with a trumpet, octopus takes the horn, loosens up the keys, licks its lips and starts playing a jazz solo. The guy hands over another fifty bucks to the octopus's owner.

The bar owner has been watching all this and disappears out back, coming back in a few moments later with a set of bagpipes under his arm. He puts them on the bar and says to the guy and his octopus, "Now, if your octopus can play that I'll give you a hundred dollars."

The octopus takes a look at the bagpipes, lifts it up, turns it over, has another look from another angle. Puzzled, the octopus's owner comes up and says "What are you fooling around for? Hurry up and play the damn thing!"

The octopus says "Play it? I’m trying figure out how to get her skirt off"

32º no wind, snowing lightly with 10 3/4" of dense powder, not wet like December.

Everything was cool at 5:30, since then power has been out and servere brownouts as well.

Not a single lift has so much as moved yet, earlyups arriving and patrol is still helping out shoveling. Not loading at 7:30

    Got skins?

edit; 7:32 and bravo turned, no earlybirds today, haha

edit2; no power at snorth, patrol still hasn't loaded

Sunday River reported 8" this morning. That seemed believable, although calling it "powder" was a stretch. The density and variety of crystal types kept things interesting, but I didn't hit bottom until they opened Tin Woodsman and I found the refrozen stuff underneath when I wasn't quite light enough on my skis.

Thunder and lightning hold in place now, and I'm packing for a work trip that leaves this afternoon.

Just got done clearing snow at the base of Magic. It is wet concrete. Does not move when pushed. Not sure it ever dipped below freezing last night.

We have no power but the ski area does so they were loading chairs pretty much on time.

On the plus side we got about 9" of the glop so it seems the mountain will survive another week.

Fingers crossed for some back-end upslope fluff to bond to it. We rarely get that though...
