    Things That Amuse You

There’s no way people were banging for 20,000 years and didn’t go down on each other.

That being said I’m definitely texting the woman I’m seeing that I want my “tongue to whither in agony” tomorrow night.

Then after my daughter was born, we continued with our Mozart Piano tradition at dinner. Then when she was around 2 or 3 or something I changed the channel to a Classical Piano channel. My daughter chimes in-- Dad, this isn't Mozart. Can you put Mozart on? I didn't know if it was Bach, Chopin or whoever, but my daughter was quick to pick up on it.

Now she's the one who's chosen each year to play the piano at the school plays and concerts. Nothing better than coming home from work, opening the front door and hearing her playing as I walk in.

We thought thing #3 was going to be a drummer. He was always drumming on things with his hands nonstop. Especially entertaining at the dinner table. He had no interest in the drum kit we got and didn't stick with lessons. It turns out he just liked to make noise.

When you're on a plane and it flies over Lake Erie and the onboard wifi switches to Fubo Canada and the show you were watching shuts off. Amusing or annoying?

Think about the personal hygiene for the last 20,000 years before indoor plumbing and regular showering became a thing and think of oral sex in that context.

So I’m browsing in a local bookstore and I see this book about the history in pictures of skiing in New Mexico. I flipped through it and looked at what was written about Ski Santa Fe because I worked there for some time. It talked about founders and key people there, and I noticed one guy whose last name was Pope was mentioned, saying a run was named after him called Pope’s Nose.

This got me puzzled, because in the 13 years I’d worked there I hadn’t heard of any run called Pope’s Nose. I wandered out and was walking home when I suddenly went phonetic on it, and realized Pope Snows! I was pretty amused.

I like his singing and the harmony isn't bad at all. Likewise the guitar playing. Anyway, it's better than the bubblegum music they were playing at the Alpine lodge today. Usually Alpine has good stuff mid week. And why do they play music in crowded loud ski dining halls. No one is paying attention, it just adds to the din.

There are people who pay extra for the unwashed nether regions even now. People have been weird and horny forever.

Totally agree on the golden era of getting it on, though.

Ha! That’s an amusing disconnect. Real life ‘le tits now’ situation. Is it really true or did the book got it wrong? Was there today- the whole place skied marvelously after getting 30” in the last week.

I've been noticing an increase in ad hoc trail signs off the beaten path around the resort lately--presumably people naming little lines after themselves or a friend. Is it a trend? Like people putting little gnomes at the base of trees or making meaningless piles of rocks.

    Internet logic

Dude on an internet forum starts a thread bitching about a company's customer service and how they won't honor their warranty. Claims "I had xyz issue with their product. I called them, left messages, emailed them, and they won't pick up the phone or respond to me." Claims he got ghosted. All over an issue that sounds very questionable as a warranty issue, including the pics he posted. This is a reputable company (disclosure, I've bought this product from them and been very happy though never had to deal with customer service)

Dude #2 chimes in "thanks for posting this review, I guess I can cross this company off the list of products I'll consider. I'll pay more up front to avoid issues like this down the road"

Dude #3 (me) points out, so you'll write off a company based on a sample of 1 single review when there is an easily searchable 300 page thread on this same forum that universally praises this company's product, plus multiple other similar threads doing the same?

And I get called a dumbass, and butt hurt.... LOL. I mean the guy must be a genius, wonder what he will do when he encounters a single negative review for any other competing product he considers?

It’s a mystery to me how the mix up occurred.

I like the vibe the South Americans bring to the mountain. I was skiing with a couple of them last week at Saddleback. Good stuff.
