Clan Highmen, including at least son #1 and possibly Ma Highmen, should be passing through around January 1 or 2 en route to Silverton.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Made the most of 8 days of low tide. It wasn’t that bad considering.
The 5” was nice in spots where it blew in.
Christmas Day Santa gave me a rope drop for three honeycomb laps of untracked boot plus. I forgot how sweet it is.

Has anybody been skiing PCMR or Canyons. Been away for Xmas and have friends coming into town for NYE so want to set proper expectations. I know runs are limited but interested to know how the snow is holding up.

Grateful things are as good as they are personally- Jackson, Tahoe, EC threads show how much worse it could be. I'm gonna go ahead and punch a bitchticket here- almost feel bad for the open snow guy whose job is to obsess about fresh POW (where did that stupid all caps thing come from anyway). Im so glad they paywalled that website so I don't get sucked into hand wringing with them like I did 20-22. If anybody has a detox plan to not watch the gfs I could use it. Maybe need to quit this place too, I'm going up every day I can regardless so why stress it? It's just so nice to get stoked looking at people's posts here and seeing storms get closer in the models when it's not like this. Maybe it's all the experience, gotta feel the lows kind of thing.

Feel free to ignore my void yelling

If you can't have fun when the sun's out, groomers are smooth, lines are non-existent, and maybe the wind has worked some magic, well...bless you for staying home

Im out there riding no matter what, and am very much not a conditions snob. I've enjoyed the empty hill and sunshine almost as much as last years mayhem this time, so why do I even care about checking the weather? I guess at the end of the day I'm just as obsessed with snowboarding as I was at 16 and winter weather is part of that. It's why I'm talking to myself in here, id rather be up there right this second.

That’s what I assumed. They came last year so they were blessed with a couple storms and booked again this year thinking last year was the norm….

I'm in the same boat. Now stuck in Chicago until Jan 3 and I am absolutely desperate to ski again - even if it's icy moguls.

From the day before yesterday, my last ski day of 2023. Get some windbuff for me mags.

    No stoke, sorry.

But as a native Utahan, literally eat shit Stuart Winchester!
The Storm Skiing Journal is nothing more than a garish google sheet and a worthless pay-to-play PR rag for indy pass and big ski corp generally.

    3) Utah hates everything
With 500 inches of floofy white jamming the canyons, a dozen world-class ski areas, and a ski season that often stretches into July, Utah ought to be the happiest ski state in the goddamn solar system. Instead, a small but highly vocal population orients itself around reflexive opposition to pretty much everything.

Any day skiing is a good one, especially in the Wasatch. Back from a 14 day hiatus tomorrow and couldn't be more hyped [emoji2956]
