Remount with demos and try to find the sweet spot, if there is one. Believe more was off on those than the mount point tho.

I just meant it was a little late. I try to read between the lines, not just look at the obvious stuff. No hard feelings. I promote the company a boat load in real life, and I'm going to buy more On3ps than most (although probably not you) in my future. I'm looking at a few right now. I will talk up when I feel it, and talk down when I don't on here. I want to be as unbiased as possible, I used to get called out on here for being too positive about On3p like you might be experiencing now.
I was a long time fanboy of On3p back in the day, almost on your level. I had at least 15 On3ps over less than a decade. In the unbiased balance I'm trying to achieve now, I seem to be polar in being too nice (I have high standards and I normally speak out even more for other brands), and also sometimes surprise too mean to On3p because I expect a lot from them as a once upon a time fanboy and I lash out with true feelings. I agree I could find a better middle ground, and achieve the same balance, but this is me.
Thank you for your service. Hopefully once I get my degree (I'm slow), I'll have enough cash flow to become a ski gear guinea pig warrior again, and like you have been. I start a new job in a few weeks too, with demo benefits and decent money, so I'm hoping I can guinea pig the new Billy Goats among other things this year.
yer doin’ god’s work son
Looking to add to the quiver. Thinking Jeffrey 108 in a 191cm or the Pravis MVP 108 in 193cm. I ain't small...more on the hudge size, 6'3" and 240lbs. I've already got a pair of BG 118s for the soft days. Looking for more of a groomer ski. Thoughts?
I have my first pair of ON3P skis shipping this week. Are there still issues with the factory tune that I hear about in the past?

108 is not a groomer ski. Look more in the sub 100. If a front side ski the Volkl M102 or the Heritage lab R99comp would be right up your ally.

Well, you did opt for the Aaver flex… My SGs are only the 1.5x flex. IMO SGs are one of the best inbounds powder chargers out there. Other notable Inbounds soft snow skis are the 4/5 flex Praxis Lhasa Fat with the heavy core (that ski also rips), and the 196 Bodacious. The SGs are much easier to ski than the other 2 skis mentioned above and they charge through chop better than those other skis.
For all the tune concerns posted here… I’ve had lots of poorly tuned skis from the small Indy manufacturers. I bought some moments that were bad enough that I literally felt unsafe on a blue groomer and ended my ski day after 2 runs. Edge High meridians… apparently edge high and fully rockered is super scary.
It shouldn’t happen… but it does occasionally. I didn’t post about my moment tune issues in the moment thread because it’s not a ‘thing’ there and stuff like that can happen.
Point being… if a few people get skis from On3p this season and post here than their tune wasn’t great… it doesn’t mean I that everyone buying new skis needs to worry.
Not very good in the bumps?

Never go full Aever
I didn’t find my 2x flex SGs actually very stiff on snow. They would oddly flop quite a bit for me when shutting down speed (especially hockey stop) on variable snow or groomed snow just going back to the lift. It was very off putting. I hadn’t experienced that since 189 K2 Shreditor 112, which was much softer and lighter. It was weird, I can’t tell why I was feeling this, as the hand flex was stiff and they should have been damp enough to dissipate some vibration energy like all On3ps excel at. I’ve had both softer(most) and stiffer(Wren 115 Comp things) hand flexing On3ps that never did this vibration translation thing on snow.
I also hate asym anywhere but untracked snow. 2x SGs were phenomenal in wide open untracked, but that’s the only place I thought they excelled and I never get to ski that(I wish I did, I’d have kept them)
I think Declivity X are just as good as SGs in untracked and chop, and better everywhere else except tied for as bad in big, funky, powder moguls.
I found my stock 2017 189 BGs just as stiff as SGs hand flexing and stiffer on snow. Even softer 2015 BGs never, ever got oddly floppy once on me. BGs were better for me all day at the resort. Obviously better in trees and for me most importantly better in big, funky, powder moguls that I ski a lot of at Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows. I preferred the non asym even for sierra cement too.
I didn’t think SGs were as good in cut up soft chop as 196 Moment Bibby Special, which were like stiffer damper Governors. I bet the 196 Wildcat would be just as good in chop as SG, and then much more versatile for me.
I need to get more time on 196 Bodacious in soft chop, but I have a good amount of experience in the 186 and it’s almost as good as Declivity X or SG. I can’t imagine me not thinking the 196 Bodacious are better.
Maybe I got a fluke pair. Maybe I should try another set of SGs. Again tho that asym..
The Heritage Lab R99 Comp sounds like an excellent groomer ski.
But, if you want to ski something 108 underfoot for groomers, both Jeffrey and MVP are pretty fun. I have a 191 Jeffrey and 193 MVP, and I'm skiing the Jeffrey. Really like the bamboo core for soaking up vibration from crusty, firm snow and like the early rise of the Jeffrey compared to the MVP
AGTelly, since you're are thinking about either brand, I'd consider custom with a stiffer flex. I'm 6' 1" 170lbs
The R99Comp is more of a all mountain ski that will crush groomers as well. It thrives off piste.

Aev, I’d say the floppyness might be the stiffness and rebound from all the carbon, that’s atleast my experience when adding extra carbon to skis. The ski wont stay flexed without a lot of energy and you get this choppy horrible ride.
