In case you missed it the Thunderbird Lodge is no more. the demolition started the other day and went pretty quick now its a matter of hauling the debris down the hill, hopefully theres a place for old ski lodges to go, I'm old enough to remember actually going inside while it was open to the public, the first photo I took last winter

What a shame. During the two seasons in the 80's I slung drinks at the pass we had MANY a good time at the T-bird. One of my homies was the manager.

The smell of burgers grilling, drinking beers out in the sun in the spring. That type of ski lodge - where you can stop in, sit by a roaring wood fire, drink a beer, eat decent and reasonably - is a dying breed. And that's a damn shame.

I'm stoked for the new Sessel. I think it will keep a lot more lesson traffic now.

I haven’t been paying much attention to the exact location of this. The summer pictures throw me off.

Is my blue line somewhat accurate to what we’ll be seeing this season? I’m actually kinda excited for this.

International lift and the Chair 2 upgrade to a 3pack are scheduled to be operational 24/25 season, i believe. The new Sessel should be operational this season though.

And i think the top station is supposed to be in that flat area kindof upslope of Snakedance gate and below/right of the widowmaker area.

Yep, i believe so. It will be interesting to see in what order that lift opens on high avy days, and also interesting to see how, if at all, it will change the back bowls policy. The optomistic view is that it will spread the crowds out as there are now two entirely separate routes from the bottom to get to advanced terrain. But the international entrance squirell catcher is no longer in play for lots of people that will inevitably try their hand at egate who otherwise wouldnt.

The easy way down would be snake dance or maybe they’ll snake a groomer track up lower international?. Some beginners hitting Felsen or going out E gate may keep patrol busy. Definitely looking forward to this new option.

Looks like the new Sessel just extends up the mountain a little bit from where it is now. Then 24/25 season they put in that international lift that starts at the top of Sessel and goes to knoll 1 general area. I don’t know why I was thinking Sessel was going all the way up. Wasn’t paying attention.

The padded seats were the beginning of the end; you all got soft. Next comes the upgraded dining, retail and skier experiences.

I sincerely hope there isn't any grunt-cam involved here.
