Hey tgr,
With the ski season winding down...reflecting that my ever-changing ski quivers always end up a top heavy with more pow skis (eg 70% of my total skis in my quiver are pow skis >111mm waist).
I grew up skiing Mt Baker where we skied 115mm LibTech NAS Pows as our DD's. I now ski Whistler/Blackcomb 40 - 50 days a year, plus get approx. 10 days at Red/Whitewater/Fernie. So I get a few decent pow days a year at some good hills. Not enough to justify my top heavy (70%) pow quiver though. But I know I like wide skis.
Wondering whachya all got in your bloated pow quivers...eg. "What skis do you have with waist widths >111mm"? I'm interested as a gear whore, but mostly I want to feel better about myself and my gear choices.
Here's mine:
K2 Pon2oon with STH (132mm waist)
Armada Whitewalker 121 with CAST (121mm)
Season Forma with Pivots (118mm)
Season Pass with Duke PT (116mm)
Line Blade Optic 114 with STH (114mm)
4FRNT Hoji with Pivots (112mm)
K2 Reckoner 112 with STH (112mm)
I have 3 other skis in my quiver....two that are 104mm (Blade Optic 104 and 4FRNT Raven) and one that is 96mm (Season Aero). Nothing under 95mm. Nothing from 105mm-111mm.
7/10 are >111mm = 70% of the quiver is in pow skis? Who else is at a 70/30 pow ski ratio or higher?
PS I just sold Faction Candide 5.0s (122mm) and 4FRNT Renegades (122mm) ....both those skis I've owned multiple times. I will probably buy Renegades again.
