It's about 1 size difference... Joking aside, it will feel 1 size larger. That may work for you, or it may not.

How tall are you? My bike has a 510 reach, and ideally I would prefer it to be a bit longer at my 6’4”, but would say it would be suitable for 6’ to 6’4”.

    Preferences of course, though.

Last (but not first) wheel I built using only zip ties on the frame as gauges, and a spoke wrench. It’s nice to have all the tools, and definitely speeds up the process, but you can do without if you take your time, and if you reference a well built wheel to get a feel for proper spoke tension.

    Thanks. I’m 5’11”

Manufacturer recommends XL for those 6’1” and taller.

    I shouldn’t be tempted

5' 11" on a 510 reach isn't unheard of, but that's petty damn stretched out. You'd need to have a strong preference for very, very long bikes.

Anybody have a 210x55 standard-mount shock laying around?

I need to send my DVO JadeX coil in for service/tune/warranty and it'll take 3 weeks or so door-to-door. If somebody had a spare, I'd pay shipping both ways plus some beer money to be able to ride for several weeks instead of sitting there looking at my bike being sad.

What’s the difference in riding experience between the Oakridge Or area and the Medford/Ashland area, gonna make an effort to do some

At both but just want to start gathering some details
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

I think I have Float X somewhere. I'll dig around tomorrow.

I don’t have one that will work for you, BUT I do have a case (yes, a case, like 10+ units) of:

Fox Float DPX2 Performance, 3 position, Trunnion Mount 205 x 62.5 that I would sell for pennies on the dollar. (aka cheaper than a service)

this may have been covered somewhere in this thread but i can't find it.
having trouble w/ a tire i can't get to seat. pulled it off to see if i had any stans build up after the winter. back on and when i use my compressor (90 psi or so) to inflate, i can't get enough air in the tire to even get it to catch the rim. had this issue w a new tire before and used a tube to seat it then pulled off and worked. did the same thing (twice) this time w no luck. also tried a bungy around the tire w no luck. running out of ideas.

Barring the possibility that your bead is on the wrong side of the valve stem in the rim bed (we've all done it), I'd ask if you're using an air blower directly into the stem without the core. You'll get a bigger burst that way.

Tubeless used to be a real bitch but i think the tires have all gotten so much better in the last few years that it's pretty painless now.

core removed. made sure valve stem is in between tire. the tire does seem like it's narrower when in the rim and too much air escaping before it can inflate but...

Try adding another layer of tape to get a tighter fit.

Yeah, I was going to suggest this also. Had this issue on Roval rims.

Might also try turning the regulator up on the air compressor (assuming your compressor will go higher). There's a noticeable difference in seating ability between 90psi and ~140psi.

IME you need more than a bungy, I 've also tried a cam strap but couldn't get it tight enough,

so what has always worked is I tie a knot in a 3/8ths piece of rope to make a circle just bigger than the circumference of the tread, with the rope around the tread put a lever in the circle of rope, wind the rope tight around the tire to spread the tire beeds

but now i just buy Maxxis and they always inflate wth a floor pump ( zero problems on 2 brands of rim) so easy its like i'm pumping up a tube

they also deflate my wallet super easy !

How did you happen to have a case of 10 shocks?

    What he said.
Also, using an inflator with no airpath interference (ie, pressure gauge) helps.

    My checkdown list in order:

    1) Park inflator with valve core installed
    2) Park inflator with valve core removed
    3) Minimist inflator (I love my UBI Inflator but the PrestaCycle Prestaflator Mini should work almost as good and easier to find) with valve core removed.

I've never had a NSE (non-seating event) happen with #3

Is there a way to identify/measure a Fox air shaft to confirm fitment and travel length? I grabbed a shaft off pinkbike for a 2022 Fox 36 that the seller swapped out for a longer one and want to ensure it is indeed a 2021+ 150mm shaft before putting it in there

There is, but I remember I needed to call Fox with some identifying markings on the shaft itself. I had four different shafts that ai need to size, and they got me sorted out. Sorry to be so vague, but this was quite a few years ago.

I had this problem recently working in a cold basement. Tried it again after riding it a couple times and after some warm weather and it worked. I think the cold was making the tire too stiff and it wasn't moving up onto the rim easily even with soapy water to lubricate. Might not have been the temp that was the problem but it sure didn't seem to help.

See if you can cross-reference a part number from the shaft to here.

I can't remember if they print it on there or not. If not, measure the exposed shaft and report back.
