Yup, around 1pm. I caught it the rope drop shit show and traversed all the way out to the far end (piss pass? I’m new to this mountain). Up high was great, the lower stuff was getting heavy on the second lap, but it was a beautiful day.

Beautiful day earlier, some crowds early and the clouds rolled in around lunchtime but no real lines after the morning rush.

I went for the game day afternoon empty ness. No lines, no visibility on Nash, nice mashed potatoes on snake dance. Good times.

WSDOT: Due to extreme winter weather conditions, I-90 is closed EB at MP 33 near North Bend. No ETA to reopen. WB remains open. https://lnks.gd/2/zxRtZd

    Who's hitting Alpental tomorrow morning?

Was planning on it but I may bail and do Wed instead if this keeps up. It's starting to feel like one of those "two runs before noon" kind of days. Awesome though, we need the snow.

We were three cars behind the plows that closed the road at mile 47, so close yet so far. Must've been good up there because it was nuking!

Son was up harvesting powder and didn't leave soon enough. He's now getting to pay for a room at the Summit Inn with his buddy.

Hopefully they open the lifts tomorrow.

If the lifts go and 90 doesn’t could be the best mistake of the season.

I had a friend sleep on the floor in the Alpental lodge on a night like this. They ran chairs in the morning and 40ish people had the best 3 hours of skiing in their lives before others could get up the pass.

Pretty stoked for the kids in the freeride comp. All time conditions. Good for them, I hope they get sendy and have permagrin from their runs.

Thanks for the reminder. Also stoked for the kids, and also cements my decision to skip today with mega crowds and half of the good terrain closed.

ALPENTAL TRAIL CLOSURE NOTICE: Our tenth annual Alpental Freeride Open (junior freeride competition) is being held on Chair 2 at Alpental this week. The course follows the chair line from near the top of Schluct all the way down to the bottom of the chair. Starting at NOON TUESDAY the course/venue will be closed to public (this is a closed inspection period for athletes). Rollen, The Fan, and Kante will be closed from noon on Tuesday all the way through Thursday for the event.

Breakover & Shot Six are TBD and could potentially open briefly Tuesday. We realize this is tough timing given it's a powder day, but unfortunately, we cannot schedule powder days.
