Baker balled out yesterday, but let’s not forget who they were playing.

A team that openly and visibly quit on their QB for all to see, fights on the bench and really the only dumpster fire in the NFL that is glowing just a bit brighter than the Browns’.

I’ll always hope Baker does well and was happy to see him roll yesterday, but it has become clear that he was not the answer at QB for the Brownies.

Yeah, my point really is just that Watson sucks now.

Jury is out on that. He has gotten better each game (I’m still not a fan of bringing him in on so many levels) and I’ll put the blame for that game squarely on the coaching. Who the Fuck chooses to throw 35 times when you have -6° weather and 50 mph gusts and you have Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt on the bench!?!

The dome team got the assignment right. They threw 11 times.

I don’t think anyone can evaluate DW4 on 4 games after 2 years off.

It’s not like RW#? who hasn’t had a day off and blows goats and has alienated his entire O line and still sucks.

It's tough to drop $250 mil on a QB and get eliminated before Christmas. Wilson, OR Watson

He looks bad, but this trade wasn’t about 2022.

I wish we hadn’t traded for Watson, but he’s looked better and better each game, and this last game he actually looked quite good I thought. Some very high quality throws. Decision making is still slow though.

I think he will be a very good QB, which unfortunately means we are stuck with the guy for years.

This doesn't apply to anyone in this thread, but just what I've seen transpire over the past several months:

Browns fans last off season: "This is a Super Bowl contending roster with the right QB."

Browns fans now: "Watson just needs a better team around him."

Who are these positive Browns fans of which you speak? Never heard of such a thing.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Clowney.

Waaaahh, they used me to help Myles Garrett get better opportunities...

Isn’t that what he said last year, too, though?

    Yeah, similar I think.

Then money entered the chat and he came back.

Browns just sent him home for the year today so I doubt he'll be back.

One stat that I think they should keep (I'm sure front offices do) is how many sacks / hits / pressures were achieved while D-linemen were on the field even if they don't get the traditional stat. Not always but most of the time the pass rush is a team effort. If a rusher gets doubled and it allows his teammate to get a sack obviously he contributed quite a bit to the play.

This was actually just discussed when they announced the team sent him home for the year. Myles Garrett is doubled on almost every play which should have let Clowney get to the QB more often. DC Joe Woods after finally listening to reason started moving Myles around the line which allowed him to get to the QB more often but Clowney didn't like that saying he was too old to move around from where he was used to practicing on the line - a decision that ended up with Clowney only being on the field for something like 1/3 of the snaps.

    Team player right there.

Yeah, it might not be an official stat, but scouts and coaches see it in the film. Lots of guys have good careers just eating bodies up the middle in the run game.

While I realize that Watson has been looking more and more each week (or at the very least showing) like a QB worthy of his salary, I can't help but look at this season and think what a wasted, garbage, blown opportunity this entire exercise has been.

Again, I didn't want Watson. I realize now Baker isn't the answer either. But how in the fuck do you waste another PRIME year of Nick Chubb, Myles Garrett, that O line, and Njoku? And where the fuck did Kareem Hunt go after week 12? It's like Watson came back and all the Ivy League guys in charge said, nah man, we good. We don't need a 2 headed monster at RB. Don't get me started on the $300MM defense.

Wasted time, wasted talent, wasted season. Jacoby Brissett is the most class act to come out of this year's dumpster fire. Dude deserves a shot somewhere to start for sure.

    Let's go Guards and Cavs!

Mr. Joe Woods is no longer employed by the Cleveland Browns. So that happened.

I look forward to reading about Mr Joe Woods celebrating his Super Bowl win in 2023-24.

What a joke this organization is, Pittsburgh rolled out rookie Kenny Fucking Pickett and managed a winning season in what should have been a massive rebuild year.

SF is the most injured team in sports and is starting Mr. Irrelevant and is favored to win the NFC.

Jacksonville went from Urban Meyer junk show to the playoffs.

How in the fuck does this team manage to be so bad yet have what looks like a great fantasy team on paper?

It truly is amazing. How long till pitchers and catchers report?

They did manage to fire Bernie Kosar...so there's that.

Srlsy though: it's gambling..I get it. But also: WTF?!?!?!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Average number of points scored with Jacoby = just under 24
Average number of points scored with Watson = just over 16

    I mean, what?

You're not wrong. The Browns under performed on all aspects of the season.

Garrett (besides his 2 weeks off for a dumbass self inflicted car mishap), and Brissett were the only two bright spots this season. Brissett was a solid game manager and didn't turn the ball over much. He did basically all that we could ask of him in the backup QB role.

There needs to be a big "come to Jesus" moment this off season from the front office, the coaching staff, and the roster. Can't believe we are only a few years and a few plays removed from almost beating the Chiefs and going to AFC championship game.

Kinda see this with the Cowboys, too. QB1 goes out so the offense relies on their running backs, who are good! QB1 comes back and all those lessons are forgotten and the play caller just wants to air it out.

This whole story with Bernie is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard come out of this organization and trust me there’s a mountain of dumb shit that’s come out of this organization.

At least he bet on the Browns to win for god's sake (at least that's what I understand.)

    And also, the dumbest? Dumbest?!

    I think you have amnesia.
