And you all can hate on DMB all you want, and despite multiple concerts I still don't know why it has the effect on chicks that it does, BUT I at least could recognize that and it was shooting fish in a freaking barrel. Them and Radiohead for whatever reason.

I was only an hour from UT, so you guys can keep your stinky, hairy jam band chicks from your Dead and Phish shows. I liked the hordes of perfect 10 college girls that always went to the DMB concerts.

DMB aside though, there was SO much great music floating through Austin back then.

Worked in IT helpdesk for a consulting/software dev company as an intern in my teens, so we definitely had early internet access. Lots of the above, but we also found quite a bit of blatant porn use on work computers (desktops). Not sure it was well known how accessible that was to IT Admin types by the masses back then. One guy did end up getting fired for having kiddie porn on his work computer. Again desktop so not like there was any claim it was accessed after-hours/at-home etc. So that was quite a bit of water cooler talk back then.

Also should note I spent a decent amount of time hitting on (and striking out) women in their late 20s early 30s in an office environment as a 16/17 y/o. We didn't have HR training for sexual harassments back then I don't think.

And it wasn't just beep beep beep with a callback number. Folks had a whole different alphanumeric 9 digit language while using them.. Like if it was your wife and important it just said 911 911 911 or something like that..

Some good stuff outta Austin in the 90s. Bad Livers. I do like the Slamgrass. Bass with a fucking tuba! Mark Rubin FTW. Wish I'd made it there to see them. They came to me instead.

Ah yes, Rage and Radiohead- two other bands that are in my top ten to play at my wake, no doubt. OK Computer immediately harkens back to simpler times. Kinda. Bought and sold all my CD's at Twisted Shout. I guess the dude retired/sold a few months back.
Someone else mentioned removable face cd player, hellz yeah drove a Civic Hatchback with Pioneer upgrade and two Rockford Fosgate kickers in the back. Good times. I got an 8 track and spare tire in the back seat but that's flat.

Was there. On 2 tabs of the best acid I’ve ever had in my life. Incredible show. There was a van full of us long haired punks with a few dozen joints we rolled in the van heading up from MoTown. I just remember joints being passed right and left the whole fucking show.
And I was in a video game.

Anybody else listen to these guys? Two of the most underrated rock bands and albums of the 90s. Grant Lee Phillips still putting out solo music.




And Rob Dickenson, nephew to Bruce of Iron Maiden. Haunting voice and so much guitar. Has put out a lot of solo music since then too.

^ Ha, Pink Floyd 3 rivers, now that I think about tit, we caught the atlanta stop for that. Bobby dodd stadium @ ga tech. I recall they four banks of speakers, obviously one at the stage, one at the opposent enzone, and 2 at the top of the stadium at the 50 yard line either side. Remember how the clocks at the start of Time zoomed around the stadium. Bought the tickets from a "ticket service" where you went to a store front and paid cash over the counter for paper tickets. Thought that at $165 for both tickets, I was getting totally ripped off. they were on about the 50 yard line, with the stage at about the 20 yard line.
