That looks just like the house where the crazy armed couple were outside defending it against a BLM march, where was that, St. Louis?
Ain’t it the truth.[emoji6] Unprecedented craziness here, too. Hope you get unchained and outside enough to maintain sanity.

Montclair!
maybe?
Montclair! Never ceases to amaze me the varying selection of classic architecture around this town.
Love that last one. An American classic.
Given Vancouver prices, this seems cheap

Montclair has some pretty sweet pads for sure. The blue shingled one with the gravel drive looks positively rustic.
Dang, you guys…some nice places up in here
I really like the character and variety of the Montclair homes too
That is something I miss living here in Jackson....there's not a ton of variety of home styles and not many truly old homes like in VT.
I think my grandparent's house in VT was built in the late 1800's

i'm definitely seeing more design-forward efforts in the ski world in the US
Skylab, the architect for the above development, has done a few now
That one is nice. Unfortunately a lot of the "design forward" new houses around Truckee are heavy on the steel and black paint. Not a good look for the mountains IMO. Houses should reflect the natural materials of the site, although maybe with the risk of fire we will have to get away from wood.
Black paint--the avocado refrigerators of the 2020's.

Just seen this thread for the first time, haven't looked through all of it, but it has me thinking about a house I visited many years ago. It was in CO, I'm thinking Morrison or Evergreen area. From the street it looked fairly ordinary, but once inside it was the coolest house I've ever been in. It was built into the mountain. Not like dirt was excavated and the foundation was set into the mountain. The entire back of the house was a giant rock slab, and the walls were cut to fit the shape of the mountain. I remember there was also a shower with the glass cut to contour the rock. There was also a creek, with fish, running right through the house! Over the years I've been to many ridiculous homes due to various jobs that I've had, but I'm generally not impressed by trophy homes or huge just because you can afford it, but this thing was something else. I tried a quick google search, but I'm not seeing it. If anyone knows the one I'm thinking of, I would love to see some pictures.

There was a house cut into a mountain in this thread a while back, maybe a year ago, but I doubt it's the same one. It was pretty cool but kinda weird and I don't remember a stream.

Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
That "A Frame Club" is everything stupid about what Wanker Park is becoming distilled into one vapid dream.
I'll see if I can take some photos next time I drive to the ski area. Those A-frames are not on a permanent foundation. They've had all kinds of problems with pipes freezing and roof/wall leaks and snow removal. I believe they got all types of exceptions/waivers from the County because they basically redeveloped a swamp that had all kinds of leaky septic and shitty wells.
But at least it operates as a hotel with associated lodging taxes vs. an STR. You can go listen to a DJ and drink a High Life out of a champagne flute.
FLW is amazing. Toured a few. Then one day I found out my best friend has a friend that owns one. After a round of golf got a tour of his house and then chilled and ripped a few. It was surreal living in one for a few hours. Like being in a museum. All the small details carefully planned.
