Went to Texas for the day. Shot 2k 223 wolf through a mk18 with a surefire can and aimpoint pro. Killed 300+ hogs, 12 coyotes between the 4 of us. I got at least 50 and 4 coyotes.

The can wouldn't come off, 1 day in wd40, 1 day in CLP, a 30" pipe wrench and a vise didn't do it. My buddy had to shoot it off, 4th round did it.

Amazing scope I have one.clear, sturdy, accurate.
    Highly recommended

You shouldn't need any clp or wd40 to shoot the can off. Surefires are designed for shoot off removal. Doesn't hurt them one bit.

Thanks for all the opinions on off site storage for my fathers guns. I called 2 ranges and 4 shops in the area and no one offers this service. One shop recommended I simply pawn them and pay the monthly float and if he ever needs them he can pay to get them out of hock. Not a terrible idea but I suspect that after his initial outrage, my father will likely be willing to sell his firearms.

    I wouldn't pawn them.

Could you get a safe, throw a blanket over it and rent a spot in somebodies garage or office or whatever?

My driver was a door gunner in Afghanistan. He freaks out every couple days, we got him a service dog and that helped. Women in burqa's send him off, they called them penguins because they looked like penguins when they walk with artillery shells on them under the burqa's. He doesn't get to see the video's.

I suggest you post the inventory and let us experts "value" them.

Does anyone have any other thoughts on who may provide this service? I’m paranoid the whole deal is going to fall through unless we figure this out.
Have you thought about getting your gun license and transferring them? He Might be more open to you having them.

Hey, I'm selling a scope I was going to put on a rifle. Might not fit what you're looking for and might stretch your budget but would be a cool setup on your Tikka. I've got a Zeiss Conquest V4 6x24x50, Vortex Pro Series 30 mm rings, and a Mountain Tactical 0 moa rail for Tikka T3s. None have been used yet other than setting up.

    $800 shipped.

Seconded - Are we talking 1-2, or 50? Long Guns or Handguns etc?

Buy Gun safe - put in a small Storage Unit? Although I dont know how comfortable I would be doing this....

I looked into a small storage unit but it's quite pricey.

At 87 - will he (in new FL digs) realistically still use? If so - God bless him. I take it you are not close to his new loc?

If couloirman isn’t interested I just might be your huckleberry. That would fit nicely on top of my new 300 WM

That's the point we got to. His new location is going to be much safer (living community) and he won't be driving as much as he used to (realistically 10-15 years ago, not now anyway).

Got word my x-bolt will be shipping 4/25. Ordered a 20moa pic rail with bubble installed, now, debating what rings to get. I can't really make heads or tails of the options out there, I know I want them to be fairly light, and no stress on alignment. 30mm tube 3-15x42mm Razor LHT going on there. What I'd really like is someone to just say "buy these" with a link and I'd be on my way. Lots of opinions, etc. Looking at mid height as my buddy may have a set of lows he will sell me with the scope, that way I can maximize fit.

The last three sets I've used on a rail were Zeiss Precision (bubble integrated and you probably don't need two levels), Vortex Pro and Vortex Precision Matched. All mounted up well. I think Seekins makes or made the high end Vortex rings. When looking at them, only difference seems to be the logo and the Seekins are a lot less. If I were putting a rifle together today, I'd probably order up some Seekins 30mm and be happy.

I like the Burris Xtreme or XTR tactical as I'm budget conscious. Have several pairs and they're great.
