Couple next to me on the gondola talking to another group about how the storm during xmas was the biggest they've ever seen in Steamboat. A few minutes later they mentioned that they had just moved here the past summer. They also couldn't remember if we've had many sunny days this winter.

Not a quote... But saw two things that made us LOL the other day:

1) Guy in line decked out in brand new everything... My little bro and I were talking about his bibs, which looked sick... brand new Arc'teryx. For some reason it didn't cross my mind right away, but then I realized his brand new Arc'teryx shell was tucked in to the bibs. Lol! Never seen that before.

2) Young woman, abandoned by friends, takes off skis at top of 500' 40ish degree groomed slope right next to the lift and proceeds to lay down on her back like a mummy while clutching the skis, and slide down from top to bottom. Oh my... she was flying. Somehow she made it all the way down without losing any equipment. The lift was going nuts.

When informed of his interesting choice in ski attachment he laughed and did nothing to fix it. This was in line for Granite Chief at the resort FKA Squaw - Not a gaper friendly lift.

I would not expect a biometric toe to hold a boot so mounted unless it is wedged in there so tight as to negate lateral release
( can't imagine it would hold at speed regardless )
