To Vaccinate or Not---The Rat Flu Odyssey Continues

I’m at my wits end. Today we’re doing a c section on a woman who is unvaccinated and Covid positive. She will go to the icu if we have one and has a really good chance of dying. We’re thinking about sending a 34 yo unvaccinated male to the UW for ECMO. He’s been on a ventilator for 15 days and blew a lung this morning. This is happening every day now around the country.

My thoughts are with you. My sister was an ER nurse for 20 years and just quit because of all the ignorant people and family members. Just because you have an iPhone, Instagram, and Facebook. It doesn't make you an expert.

Im guessing we’re at 91% for MMR because it’s required for public schools. Making the vaccine mandatory is the only way we’ll get there. There is unfortunately no other way.

Speaking of- I saw a clip where he encouraged people to “get the shot” at a rally-> and got big league booed! No wonder he’s now against boosters. His fragile ego can’t handle the boos!

Well it is still pretty widely varied on if/when a booster is most effective, least that's what a lot of CDC and who folk are stating. Think a bunch of em recently quit, both FDA and CDC.

Yep, it's the frontline EMS and healthcare workers that are getting screwed most here now... They didn't sign up for so much TOTALLY AVOIDABLE carnage. They stepped up and risked their lives for all of us BEFORE we could protect ourselves with vaccines and better masks being available. The crush of avoidable tragedy must be exhausting and maddening. Seemed to work out OK for Polio, TB, and just about everything else more than 95% of the general public gets vaccinated for. (note that excludes flu shots).

And fact that guns are required for gun violence to exist. The new wave's coming from idiots leaving a spare gun in their car. My son said all his former friends who didn't get good jobs out high school or go to college that want a gun know that going from car to car at night they can have one within an hour. So, pretty much every young adult and/or felons are easily arming themselves in spite of the laws thanks to you good guys/gals who followed them but are dumb and paranoid enough to leave a gun in your car all the time.
