I don’t disagree. There are people having different opinions and supporting those opinions, some people don’t like that, even if 50% of the country has those opposing opinions.

Yeah, been a down cycle for sure. Today has been a discouraging day for news in general and covid wise. I'm stuck in Iowa for the next 4.5 months so TGR becomes even less relevant to my life than normal and my attention has turned local. Schools with mask optional are a ticking time bomb here.

My girl is in orchestra instead of band now since they are having band classes like normal indoors with almost zero bells or split masks. Like 90 people in the room. It is crazy. The only real mitigation is two open windows with fans blowing out and maybe the HVAC system.. At least playing the violin she can wear her mask and the percentage of masked and (probably) vaxxed is higher for those lucky enough to be 12.

Plus it's a fucking fiddle which I wanted her to play all along. Some decisions are no brainers.

The big picture: 60% of eligible Americans are fully vaccinated. Another 10% are partially vaccinated. A lot of the remaining 30% are young people whose only opinion is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ making the remaining percentage of hardcore anti-vaxxers smaller than people might assume.

And vaccine hesitancy looks like it's crumbling. In the past two weeks there has been a sharp increase in vaccinations with an additional 8% saying they plan on getting vaccinated. That leaves only about 20% of eligible Americans who say they're not likely get vaccinated, down from the high 30s-% a few months ago. Nearly 80% of parents also say they plan to vaccinate their kids when it's allowed for their age group.

True, but I think he was speaking more to a gradual shift in the national sentiment toward vaxxing, and from that perspective it is positive news. That and the possibility that delta MAY have peaked, fingers crossed. At least until the next variant/spike etc.
