^^^ No apologies for having a great time out on the water! The best boat is the boat that gets used often, no matter the size/price/etc.

The ‘Patricia Lynn’ doesn’t compare to most of the boats in this thread but it works great for us. We hit some winds on the way back and had to deal with that while dodging deadheads in the reservoir made this noob a bit nervous but it is incredibly stable and confidence inspiring. Also helped that a buddy had his fam and a 20ft Thunder Jet to guide us through the swells.

Those Kingfishers are great boats. That looks like one hell of an adventure. Beautiful campsites too!

That looks like a great time!

But where's your RTT!?!? If you are going to be out exploring the wilderness, you must have a RTT.

In a similar small boat theme, I picked up a 16' aluminium in April 2020, for a steal, just before prices went crazy.

I ended up replacing the older 25 that had a bent prop shaft with a lightly used 30 4 Stroke. The boat is actually rated for a 50 but it was built in the era of two strokes so a modern 40/50 hp would be too heavy.

We've used it for fishing and camping and tubing with the kids. I've put on about 85 hours since spring 2020.

We're fortunate in that there's lots of island camping within two hours of us.

The new engine for my jet boat is sitting, hopefully, in Ponchatoula LA. I was headed down this week to pick it up and fish in Venice.

    I had that exact thought.

Is there a motor for the dinghy or will you row?

Meh. That big bitch didn't treat me too well at the end there. Family still owns it 3.5 hrs away, so I will get to be a passenger every once in a while. Did a shakedown cruise last weekend. It was fun, but I won't miss it. I am hunting for a 25 Guardian with Whaler Drive. A true unicorn around here. I will fix up and play with the 13, possibly jump into an 18 or 22 in a few years, and find my unicorn eventually.

The one thing with Intrepid...It was an amazingly well built boat. Not one spot of rust from any of the 25 year old hardware, barely a scratch anywhere, surprisingly current features (Intrepid hasn't changed their design a ton in 25 years on most models), holds it's value really well, ran really dry, crushed any wave or wake in its way, and was an absolutely perfect mix of family and fishing vessel. The one thing that disappointed was the "community". There wasn't one. Boston Whaler has tons of message boards and pages devoted to restoration and sourcing. Mako had the same. I could fix anything on either of them with all the info that is out there. Intrepid had barely anything. Beside THT, there was hardly a resource to be found. I guess when you get into a certain class and price point, no one does their own work. That was a big let down. Guess I am just strange. I like to at least try to do it myself.

So yeah, just kinda MEH. I will miss running out to the islands at 40+ mph, never backing off the throttle, no matter the seas. That is about it.

I don't know though, the owner of my(former)marina is building this, so who knows.

50 ft Nor-Tech with 4 ft added to the back. Was equipped with twin 850's, but now getting quad 450R's
Here is an article on the same boat with 3 850's

This is what it used to look like before being converted to a CC.

So jelly. Worked a couple seasons around Ootsa and Whitesail. Beautiful country. And nice kingfisher. Hoping we have another 5yrs with our west coast fishing buddy and his 19' harbercraft (old kingfisher), but age is catching up to him so we might have to find a craft like yours sooner than later.

This is me, except with a yellow 17' tripper. Been great for the rivers and lakes around here so far, but a bit large for solo paddling. Hoping to get out this long weekend with my daughter while mom is stuck working nightshifts in acute and sleeping during the day.

1977 Tollycraft 26. Took a while to find the right one at the right price, but she showed up. Meet the PV 'Nordic Mist'. I call her Misty, and I'm in love.

Shopping for an OB. Limited to 5 HP for the tender, but would like have something that would limp me home in a pinch. Need a bracket for the step as well.
