no it isn’t you dumbfuck. you are making a choice to be an antisocial malcontent contrarian douchebag that is holding up all of society with your bullshit. that’s not at all the same as being born into a religion - never mind the rest of it. but if we had to stamp STUPID on your forehead, well, i guess i’m ok with that.

im sorry you can’t differentiate between the two… critical thinking doesn’t appear to be your sides strong suit..

Just read only 40% of native Hawaiians are vaccinated. Compare to 62% total for the state. Some contend the difference is due to many native Hawaiians harboring a deep distrust of the government dating back to the U.S.-supported overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy in 1893.

But don't worry, I've come up with a great idea to change their mind. We just need to make their life as big of a pain in the ass as we can. Make them feel like they are second class citizens. That will help them get over their deep seated distrust. And when the pandemic is over, I am sure there won't be any lingering animosity.

I sincerely believe that we should turn over control to the Hawaiians and let them decide what happens on the islands. Kick all the haoles out.

To Vaccinate or Not---The Rat Flu Odyssey Continues

We have already learned that people can’t be trusted to do the right thing.

What makes you think living with a pandemic for a generation thinking it will end eventually will get us out of a pandemic?

    Motivated reasoning:

    1) Lib Elite “experts” say X

    2) i hate Libs

    3) I want to believe -X

    4) What explanation, no matter how outlandish, for -X can I come up with: Y

    5) “Y proves -X”.

    6) believe -X

    7) I owned those Libs

Exactly. So amazing what talking points these idiots believe. “Only 30k deaths are really attributable to the virus itself”. You just can’t have a reasonable conversation with people like that. And it’s also always about the deaths. What about the millions who have long term issues?

Maybe have a placard printed up, put it on a stick, and just raise it up whenever this horseshit gets spewed... placard looks like this:

This is likely an accurate depiction of the mental work flow driving 40% of our population.

Owning the libs is a powerful motivator.

We? Hmmm, You could also say native Hawaiians learned that government can't be trusted to do the right thing. Their experience seems to be much different from yours.

I haven't really been following along, so maybe it's been covered, but that is possible at the state level. They already issue driver's licenses, that already have medical information (consent to donate organs). Border states already offer enhanced DLs that have a person's passport info on a chip. I don't think it would be prohibitively difficult or expensive. I think the only thing preventing it is politics.

You say neither the government, nor the business, should ever doubt people who claim the have a medical exemption (I agree, it would be ridiculous to spend time adjudicating that on an individual level). What is wrong with also trusting people who say they are vaccinated without making them cough up the stupid card? People claim they could lie. Well, people could easily forge a CDC card. They could easily claim they have a medical exemption when they don't. The fact our country is fighting over this CDC card depresses me. It's just total bush league and you know we are going to read about fights breaking out over this. It will be arbitrarily applied, and arbitrarily enforced and it will delegitimize our government and make us look like buffoons. At some point we need to be a more trusting, and less authoritarian society.
I would love for all of that to be true, but you and I both know that people will just lie. Outside of Seattle (where mask adherence was/still is exceptionally high) when the policy went to masks required only for for the unvaccinated literally everybody in the rest of the state stopped wearing them.

Dr. Joe Rogan here at 6:35 talking about how the average covid death had 4 comorbidities? Is this true, or am I misunderstanding what he is saying?

Not that it excuses what we did, but Hawaii was always going to be owned or dominated by a major power. We just got there first. Russia and then Japan were lead competitors, now China would be as they are doing with many other "independent" Pacific islands previously dominated by Western powers. Geopolitics of the Eastern Pacific is vital to maritime nations like the US.

Quarantine is standard practice, has been forever. You may be unfamiliar with it, because we've become so good at preventing disease that it rarely happens any more.

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/25/healt...ine/index.html

The order was announced by public health officials Thursday at the University of California, Los Angeles and California State University, Los Angeles for students, faculty and staff who were exposed to a confirmed case of measles and who cannot prove that they have been vaccinated against measles.

Those students and university employees – numbering more than 200 people – were ordered to stay home, avoid contact with others and notify public health officials if they develop symptoms.
Treat Covid like measles. Let's end this pandemic and get back to normal.

No, public health isn't your strong suit.

You ISOLATE the sick to ensure they do not transmit (you wait out the transmission period).

You QUARANTINE the healthy to ensure they do not become sick (you wait out the incubation period).

And so it has been since ships were QUARANTINED (quarantena) on arrival in port to make sure they didn't have the plague or whatevs.
