Bump because it seems they straight up executed Andrew Brown. Fuck the fucking police. Can they attempt to go 12 hours (I used to say a day but that seems to be an unobtainable goal) without killing someone?

They are definitely trying to cover that shit show up in North Carolina. Refusing to release the body cam at this point and only showing the family a 20-second clip that begins after the shooting started. The family member is saying Mr. Brown was straight-up executed by the cops.

Pro-tip for the Seattle Mags. If you are going to get yourself into an emergency situation make sure it is at or near a UW facility or on campus. UWPD will be there in 2min and will be super helpful and professional. SPD won’t.

What I find the most significant about this video is how this cop is literally in the middle of racing around harassing people while simultaneously ranting about how everyone hates the police. Somehow not putting it together.

And this video, to me, is important in showing that it’s way way way more than just killing black people, it’s more than just killing all kinds of people, it’s more than just tons and tons of abuse, it’s just a huge gap between [why a self-governing people would pay taxes for police services...the kind of service we’re ostensibly paying for] and [how police see themselves and how they operate in real-world day-to-day operations]. It’s not just about the scattering of extreme bad outcomes, to me it’s about millions of these instances of unstable aggressive cops and soldiers and border patrol and prison guards using the authority of the state to exercise their personal anger agendas.

Protect and serve. Not bully and get paid. Protect and serve.
That shit needs to be said over and over again from cadets to senior officers and everybody in between. If you’re not there to protect and serve, if you’re out to jerk people around because you’re pissed at the world, fuck off and come back when you have your shit together.
It’s not impossible to do, there’s nothing to it but doing it.
