Awesome article. Moosilauke was the first mtn I hiked up to ski down when I was 16.

And soup has been an EC thing since the beginning apparently...

That is awesome. I bought a reprint of that book a few years ago. A lot of the descriptions still line up with existing resorts. Others not so much but it is fun trying to figure it out.

Tucks (come at me) was stellar today. Chute was the top pick for the run. Wore sneakers all the way to the bowl. Low crowds, no wind and plenty of sun. Could have been my last day skiing this year. Not a fan of down walking and doubt I will ride lifts again

So it's a hike in shoes at this point to reach the base of the bowl? My buddy and I are thinking of going next week but wondering what conditions are going to be after this warm weekend. Maybe not the best year to finally go there for the first time I dunno

Snow in the bowl is good. Sherburn is melting out fast. Some skinned after first eight hundred feet or so but I found it just as easy to walk. Runs are still pretty fat. I say go just not on a weekend

Edit. May not have been clear in my brevity but you can ski over half way down the sherburn. I just found it easier to walk up in sneakers

I did pull my snow tires off on Wednesday. I'll see if I can get the snowblower drained and put away this weekend for maximum effect.

This afternoon, we had a localized power outage that affected some of our lifts and some areas in the Village. Electricians will be making repairs tonight and are optimistic that everything will be restored by tomorrow morning; however, repairs can't be made while lifts are running, so we'll be closing the SuperQuad at 3:50 to give electricians some additional time this afternoon. Even if power is fully restored, Whiffletree and King Pine will be closed tomorrow because of snow melting and a loss of skiable terrain.
The outage is also affecting our internal network, so we will be delayed in updating the Mountian Report this afternoon.

YIKES! Looks like the Back is where it's at!
