I'm not flying at all at the moment, and haven't been since last spring. Doing some contract work sitting in front of a computer, a major reno on an old house, and odd job / maintenance / handyman work. Well, that and a little day trading.

My state is still in 1A phase until tomorrow or maybe longer (and have had a special Teachers initiative also the last few weeks), then they go to possibly 1B in a week or 2. There are some counties with little to no demand and the doses are not being used. The largest city said no to the State program and are running their own and are past the 1A in their eligibility requirements. They announced one County will not be getting any doses at all for distribution also (not sure if that is due to demand or they have enough inventory. Not sure how they are going to do enough to get though a large number of Group 1B and 1C in less than 1 month if they do not start 1B on Thursday.

I'm older, but not that old, and Oregon is now 45 and up if you have a health condition. We help with caretaking for my in-laws and my grandparents, so that's eligible in OR. Waiting for Pfizer 2 to happen on 4/18. Glad to be in this process finally.
I was one of first 600 in New York State confirmed positive.
Sick from March 15th to April 8th of 2020.

I heard vaccine reactions like miniature version of COVID.
If so, I’m scared what my second does would do to me.

I’ll report back to after each shot.
    I’m getting Pfizer.

Hope it goes okay nutmeg. I've reached out to a couple of real world friends and thanked them for coming out with their covid positive stories early. You're the first virtual friend I remember having it and announcing it. Likely you and the others had a big impact on helping the rest of us help ourselves stay safe through this thing.

Moderna #1 this morning and the only noticeable side effect so far is a craving for Chick Fil A for lunch.

Good write up here, that confirms your suspicion. This approach is becoming well known, have heard of two people who did the drive far away for an appointment thing in the last week.

WTH is up with WA? 102 fully vaxed getting the COVID.

    https://www.yahoo.com/gma/over-100-f...115339262.html

Over 100 people in Washington state have tested positive for COVID-19 more than two weeks after becoming fully vaccinated against the disease, officials said.

The Washington State Department of Health is investigating reports of the so-called breakthrough cases, which it said are expected with any vaccine.

Out of the 1.2 million people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in Washington, epidemiologists have reported evidence of 102 breakthrough cases in 18 counties since Feb. 1, representing less than 0.01% of all fully vaccinated individuals in the northwestern U.S. state. Most cases were patients who experienced only mild symptoms, if any, according to a press release from the Washington State Department of Health.

Were you concerned about catching Covid after you had recovered from Covid? I have seen a mixed bag from others who were positive. 3 people never got sick again over the next year.

To be fair, I usually crave CFA for lunch about once a month so this could be coincidental.

If I start to consider Popeyes, or even (gasp) Zaxby's, then I'll be concerned and notify the FDA.

No, it's totally expected. Being fully vaccinated gives you a 90% chance of not getting covid but like a 99.99% chance of not getting severe covid.

Why were they flying? Even if I were very flush and could go where I wish. I don't beive I would have been getting on commercial Airlines.

That said the private planes around here have been doing a booming business the past year.

Got Moderna-ed yesterday. Non dominant arm shot (L) means I'm not damaging my engine as much as MCS5280. Feels like I got punched really hard in the shoulder, no other symptom.
Surprisingly quiet at the site on the W end of the SLC valley, no difficulty getting an appointment at all. Sites closer to SLC proper are booked solid forever but anything in UT county is wide opened and you can pick Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J depending on where you go.

Got my Pfizer number one on Monday, and over 48 hours out still not feeling anything. Bit of a sore arm, but that’s to be expected.

Will be curious to see how number two goes. But I hope to God this is the hardest part of it.
