I'd say the base area at Jackson Hole has a slightly better claim on calling itself a village than Crystal, but hey there is a store, a bar, a couple hotels, a chapel. What else do you need?

My decision to go today turned out not to be so bad after all.

Actually now that I think about it, it’s the only place that I hear people saying “the village”, and that’s because there’s a town of Jackson, there’s Snow King, (which is in Jackson), and then of course there’s Teton Village, which is an address.

Great day at Crystal today. Snowed all day, no lift lines, skied freshies bell to bell. SE Trees were worth the hike!

Which made up for Sunday’s rain and long lines at the 3 lifts that were open....and forgetting our tailgate beers too....

Shredders shred. Gapers gape. Better hope you're one more than the other if you're gonna hang your balls out in the wind.

It all ripped walk to wall. Biggest propagation I’ve ever seen. Stuff has now reloaded and is sliding on same bed surface but it’s taking 2-3 passes. So going on the 3rd person type of deal. Scary.

very aggressive lines were ridden on Wednesday...

Yesterday was a bit of a sleeper day. Not often that you get to ski soft chalk on all aspects at baker.

The persistent weak layer is here! Hopefully not to stay. Although they tend to do that.
That late January high pressure + hard crust + light dry snow on top was a doozy.

I certainly could have as it was very much BG type of conditions...deep...and manky at the bottom. The ones on the left belong to my buddy. The ones on the right are my C&D’s. C&D’s were perfect for the first few hours...then as temps rose and the manky cement set up, not so much.

Stevens delivered today. Although they couldn't open the backside for most of the morning because they didn't have enough lifties. When they did, jupiter line was unreal. Southern cross never opened. Night skiing fresh powder lines was tight, my form was not. Thankfully us2 was not as hellacious as I'd heard it usually is with snow on the road.

Take it safe and easy PNW brethren. Too much tragedy, east coast to west, to see any heavy shit go down out there....

Odds on Snowmageddon 2021!! panning out this week? I predict we'll see some lowland snow, but no more than a couple inches. But be sure to stock up on TP and food because you know the store shelves will get cleared out.

Crystal was not exactly magical but the 192 Zealot was the right tool for turning firm windbuff and ice to powder today..

Meeting my sister for a day at White Pass in a few weeks.... She's in Portland - so this is an experiment in meeting halfway.

I'll be in the 2WD work truck (Wife will have the 4x4). Anywhere particular I can leave a car? Morton? Will I be able to get through HW7 to Morton during a normal PNW winter day (assuming no snowmeggadon). HW7 seems to top out at 1500' so seems easily doable. Work truck is a single cab, 8' long bed, with hwy tires - so literally the worst vehicle for driving in weather...
