    DATE/TIME: On January 31, 2021, at approximately 0300 hours

INCIDENT LOCATION: Killington Mountain, Killington, Vermont

    INCIDENT: Lost Snowboarder

    NAME: Raymond Park

    AGE: 49

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Killington, Vermont

    SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On January 31, 2021, at approximately 0300 hours, Vermont State Police received a report of a lost snowboarder in Killington on the back side of the Killington Ski Area. Raymond Park was snowboarding at Killington before going out of bounds. After several hours of trying to return to the trail, he sent his GPS location to a friend just before he lost power to his phone. State Police Search and Rescue and Killington Search and Rescue Teams located Park at 0800 hours in good condition. Temperatures overnight were approximately -13 degrees. Killington Ski Area has a boundary marker to prevent skiers and riders from leaving the ski area boundary. Skiers and riders are reminded to always stay within the ski area boundaries, let someone know where they are going and if venturing off into the back country, be prepared to spend the night in the woods.
The "fumblers" were a crew of moms that snuck a day away from their kids to Summit Mt. Washington on a bluebird day together and ski down. They had a kick ass day!!!!

Ha for Stratton to get the pitch of Magic they’d need to follow Walter Schoenknecht’s nuclear bomb plan.

And they’d never get the vibe, no matter how many reports they had McKinsey draft.

    Nice!

There's a rumor that they are going to allow snowmobiles up there. How they keep them on Cog property would be interesting. West side sure has changed. Only $10 to park now but wait till they realize people will pay more. And if that hotel gets built.. yikes

Geeze, for moms they sure looked like two split boarders, one of whom lost traction and gave up, that were laying in the middle of the trail while one strapped his split onto his pack. They forced everyone into less than ideal snow for steep climbing instead of getting out of the way.
Saw the moms at the summit.

    Plattekill is on for tomorrow.

They don't look to be getting as much as Hunter or Belle, but it's already very deep in the woods. Even 10 inches should be good.

22º bob w/ light breeze and 4 1/8" of fairly dense new snow. Summit snow cam blown clean but they are reporting 5" there. Currently mostly dry slotted, only a few odd flakes falling.

Funny I was thinking the same thing. You can drive completely across the state of Vermont with that range.

Heading out to plow and then ski, snow totals are way down from what they predicted ( so far... it’s still dumping ). Looks like 6” or so at my place. Get some!

I’m in the monadnock/sunapee area, and it’s misting here also.

10" at Bromley with a weird combo of small flakes, ice pellets and super cooled water as the physics of the snow growth zone don't support flakes. With last nights wind it's making it ski denser than what fell last night. Looks like we're back to just snow as of 11am. Hope we get a few more. Lots of snow here.

East Coast Roll Call #??? 20-21 Covid closures and hard core touring! Be Fit or Sit

Did a quick Bolton lap this morning on a few inches of new snow. Wind scoured up top but the trees are still skiing very well. Snow started up again as I left and looks like its going to be on and off for the next few days. Tomorrow will be even better.
