Thanks whip - I owe you one, two actually! And I think all the dogs did just fine.

Yep. I co-manage the center now, which means if no one else can cover absences, it’s on me. Two night shifts and 2 days in the same week=fun!

Are you still repping for Marmot? My new costume arrived this week and might take it out for a few runs this afternoon.

Oh yeah, if anyone’s looking for work, the Sheriff’s Office is hiring dispatchers. $22/hr

I'll be at Monarch Wed-Fri. Just look for the best skier on th mountain (puttering around with a 6 year old).

You will like it. And then I think of powder coming and really start drooling. But the best day will be sunday I guess and that means crowds so I will probably just boot up something close to home.

The bottom of the mountain and the groomers are melted/refrozen and brown dirt patches and lots of debris. If your kid can ski blacks already, you'll have more fun. Right now I would take a groomer skier over to Loveland and do the mambo because they have the good man made coverage and it's a pretty shady face...

edit - I am trying to think if the little road groomer off the top of panorama could be fun for a kid. I didn't take that one all the way down, maybe somebody else can say. But it may be fun at Monarch just because there are more groomer runs to ski?

LL was great yesterday, sunshine and cruisers, 100% compliance from other skier/riders, no lines, front row parking. Win.

It was so beautiful out, I did yard work! The global warming is favorable for some places, I suppose.

There is snow on north aspects, all sugared up. I used to go and skin up north peak at Keystone when it was like this. Super fun skiing the hissy facets.

Anyone been to LL in the past few days? Any hope of 8 and 9, or even Ptarmigan, opening in the next couple of weeks?

Yes, been to LL in past few days.

They're grooming Ptarmigan. Hopefully this little storm gives them enough to open at least something up there.

8 and 9 are way off.

Thanks brother. I figured 8 & 9 were a ways off, but am still hoping we get a good storm in the next few days/weeks to speed things along.

I've been away from LL for a few years, it seems like they're going even slower now getting stuff open even given the low snowfall this year. I was surprised they haven't even tracked the stuff under ptarmigan or 4 with a cat to keep it from blowing away.

I do know that a few of the higher up snow safety guys have left. That plus lack of snow probably slows things down significantly.

Its almost comical how little Loveland has open compared to just about every other resort in Colorado.
