Just finished The Americans last night (I know I'm late to the party). I can't say I totally bought into the plausibility of the double and triple and quadruple lives they were sometimes leading, but overall it was a great series that explored a lot of interesting, complex issues. I will admit I was skeptical at first, but it is certainly high quality entertainment. Will probably watch it again.
We finished Barbarians over the weekend. I read a lot of history and prehistory, and usually shows/movies like this irritate the shit out of me. I think the producers did a good job of listening to their consultants, and we enjoyed it. It’s not long- just a 6-episode series.
I'm assuming that The Crown has been mentioned. Just got sucked into season 4 as a bystander, and, I have to admit, it's great fun. Total eye candy. Gillian Anderson as Thatcher is brilliant. Just brilliant.
I recently polished off the 2 season, 12 episode run of the original UK series.
It is fantastic if you dig well acted, expertly directed, and multi-layered sci-fi conspiracy plots.
It runs the gamut from absurdist to chillingly creepy to over-the-top moments of violent mayhem.
Afterwards, I attempted to watch Amazon's 2020 remake and barely made it through the first episode; it was excruciatingly horrid in all respects.

But the British series is off-the-nuts top notch.
Trying to find a way to watch this but unsuccessful - suggestions?

I somehow glazed over the UK disclaimer at first read and was doubting your credentials.
I watched more than I'd like to admit of the amazon version. It had the absurdity and it had the violence, but none of it ever really came together.
I just started The Flight Attendant on HBO Max. I hate absolutely everything about The Big Bang Theory and I wouldn't have watched it if I knew Kaley Cuoco was in it, but to my complete surprise, she is awesome in this series. A great bloody murder comedy about someone who's lost touch with reality, or has she?
