nice. I love those late '70s Porsches and BMWs in that orange. I would love to see a 914 2.0 in this color.

That was my Dad's exact 914, except he had the regular Fuchs wheels. Had to sell it when I was born for... a Pontiac Safari Station Wagon.

Never let me forget that sacrifice, even after he got himself back into another p-car.

It's been funny to see the 914 finally get some love. When I was in high school those things were a dime a dozen and DIRT cheap. I long for the past when we could pick up rad cars for next to nothing. Those days are gone.

That was fun to watch a bit of. GT World Challenge from Nurburgring on CBS Sports right now if you’re looking to watch something until the Cleveland Browns come on at 8.

It’s a like a very fast parade of all the most desirable sports cars in the world.

Finally back in front of a screen to catch up.

Not a single Audi, Ford, Corvette, Lambo, Bentley BMW, Mercedes or Acura GT car in the field. No Audi or Porsche Prototypes.

I don’t know if it’s just a side effect of 2020 and all that goes with it, but that is such a shame.
Next year’s changes look to give the race a shot in the arm for sure.

Right now the IMSA field is more impressive in my opinion.

We saw the weiner mobile yesterday. My kids lost their shit laughing so hard. Then like 15 minutes later my kid spotted a Porsche 928. Don't see those two everyday. Couldn't snap a photo of the 928, so I'll just post a pic of my old one. I really miss that car. Click image for larger version.

That’s funny. My old man traded his BMW Bavaria for a “shit orange” Honda Civic AND a Mazda RX4 Wagon. Depending on who you talked to, it was the day he grew up or the day he lost his manhood. He also liked to remind us about this selfless sacrifice.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

I have a hilly, twisty 2 lane road as my commute home and yesterday I was lucky to chase a late model 928S (maybe '94?) the whole way. Man, I really like those things and would love to get a well-kept example one day.

BMW has, without question, completely, and utterly, lost its way.

The Ultimate Driving Machine has bought into whatever this is

    full stop.

I remember when Audi went to the large grille that we all have known for the past 15 years and thinking huh, that's weird but it goes back to their heritage and large grilles of the past - oh, and it looks good.

What these giant nostrils are is just cartoonish and has no tie to anything in BM's past.

Bangle era cars were better looking than this. Yeah, I said it.

In that silver 928, we chased down a lamborghini diablo through the mountains coming into Teton valley from Idaho falls. I had to push, but I was able to reel him in before we hit the valley floor.

There is NO substitute. That car was rad. ...The forerunner of all Porsche front engine vehicles.

Last month, I filled my car up with gas in Aspen with the plan of zipping thru Indy Pass. Along side me at the gas station, was a newish silver Aston Martin driven by a youngish tattooed lady. She finished just before me and exited first. Of course, although I didn't know her, she had the same plans as me. The problem was that although there were very few cars/pedestrians, etc. on the road, she chose to talk on the phone, adjust her make-up and never exceed 35mph. I was so f##king pissed. I don't think that I ever got the turbo out of 3rd gear.

It was badass. Mine was an auto, but it was a fabulous car. Mine was totally reliable after an engine bay refresh. It was pretty fast, and it was very comfortable for long distances at high speeds. Great car. 944t is way sportier and "quicker" but if I was driving from SLC to Ketchum, or from Ketchum to victor as in this photo, 928 IS WHERE ITS AT!Click image for larger version.

A buddy did me a huge favor with HVAC on our renovation last year so I picked up the tab on Oxotic's supercar tour based in Golden, CO. Holy shit what a day! Drove a Mercedes GTR, Lamborghini LP610-4 (AWD), Ferrari 458 Italia and a McLaren 570S. Till this point I had never driven anything like these (think all of them had a top speed over 200). I now understand why folks love Italian cars...the Lambo was downright frightening till you got a feel for the power and grip. Once you did it carved up the mountain roads like a GS race ski. The Ferrari was so sexy and deceptively smooth, but when you jumped on it hold on...exceptional carving up the mountain roads too. Both the Lambo and Ferrari sounded amazing on top of the performance. Unfortunately, we had the McLaren on the way back from Boulder to Golden and didn't get to push it but is a stunning car inside and out. The AMG was the ugly duckling and just didn't have the "wow factor" of the other cars, didn't seem as nimble or quick (reminded me of heavy American muscle car) but the interior was a bit more luxury than the Italians.

Would highly recommend Oxotic...owner was pretty cool too. Think they recently added an Aston Martin Vantage to their fleet.
