Every time Microsoft pushes out a new Win 10 update, some shit gets fucked up on my system. And goddamn it, Edge is becoming like malware.

And Apple sucks too, so don't tell me its better.

Did you know when you buy a new $700 dish washer it does NOT include the power cord???? Neither did the fucking sales person when I bought the fucker..... grrrr. Had no problem ringing up the $250 3 yr extended warranty with no questions, take that shit off and credit me back.

ohhh, yeah, dont forget about the 90 deg elbow you need to attach to the water line, only mentioned in one sentence, buried in the install manual.

ah yes, learned that tidbit this spring too. it was especially great that it was in the height of covid shutdown. Believe it was the same with the stove too
We were PO'd that the person at Lowe's didn't mention that we *might* also want to pick up a cord with the purchase, but then again it was being staffed by whomever they could get to work so people were all strewn about in different depts than normal.

Current electric code treats DW and dispoals as corded appliances and they need to be plugged into a gfic protected outlet.

That would be easier than have to disconnect them each time. The disposal is hardwired on a protected circuit at least. The dishwasher, not so much.

That's the wrong way. You shouldn't have romex running behind/under the dishwasher. SO cord from washer to an outlet is the way.

Growing up we had Maria, a Mexican lady, wash our dishes. No cord was necessary.

I think code is hardwired into its own gfi breaker.

Preexisting non conforming can work with a plug. But if they give you a cord and it’s not gfi and you get zapped, then you sue them, so no cord for you.

Not a bad idea, considering most older dw outlets are behind the unit and can’t be tested or reset.

Most reasonable solution is to drill a hole in the cabinet and have the gfi plug under the sink.

That is where mine is, although it's not gfci protected.

Mine too, but the receptacle is on a dedicated GFCI circuit.

What about for when she got out of line? still no cord?
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I had to replace my disposal from the 70's (the paisley one I posted about). No power cord with the new one and Mountain Hardware didn't have one. (The last time MH didn't have something was about 8 years ago when a woman was looking for a menorah for Chanukah.) I used the cord from the old one. House hasn't burned down yet. BTW--sink top button to run your disposal is the best thing since unsliced homemade bread, especially when the wall switch is 2 feet away behind the microwave. Sometimes I run the disposal just for fun, so I can use the button.

The fact that you use Sky for your network is disconcerting.....

Do you want terminators? 'cause this is how you get terminators....

    Couponers

Got stuck behind one in line at the grocery store tonight. The rest of the line got called over to another till. Process that whole line, bag up my stuff and she was still going at the original till. I get saving $$$ but JFC. She definitely didn't need the multiple cases of soda she was probably getting for free.

Me: "Hey Comcast, the line from the telephone pole to our house dropped 6 feet in last weeks storm. Can you send a guy out to tighten it up as I can touch it now?"

Comcast: "Have you tried re-setting the modem?"
