New Zealand brewers prophesize the death of the Old School (i.e. bitter) IPA:

Thats sad. But it will never go away and all it does is open it up for a great re-emergence in 5-10 years. The east coast fad will fade.

“Perhaps I didn’t execute well enough for judges’ palates but the punters liked it and it sold out.”

Some high quality truth being laid down here.

Once all these millennials start walking around with a limp from the gout they got from chugging NEIPAs all day, people will start wanting clear beers again, and I'll be there waiting like hahahahaha!

All joking aside, I'm drinking a nice hazy beer made with some NZ hops right now though. Motueka, Moutere, and Rakau.

Funny, one of my localish breweries just released a hazy they are calling "the New Zealand Edition" because it is brewed with Montueka, Moutere, and Pacifica hops...

    Ha, yes!

Yet, I'm drinking a hazy double right now too.

Enjoy! Likely out of town or perhaps invite myself to join you. Last I checked you needed a reservation at Foam. FYI to book in advance if that policy holds true.

I was able to get a Hills delivery last week. Gorlt Sumner, Citra and Maria. There is a reason that place is so highly rated.

Why don't you go practice fallin' down? I'll be there in a minute.

Nice work! I have been spending most of my summer 25 minutes from the brewery. I have been drinking a stupid amount of their beer. Really dug that batch of Citra but also enjoyed Sumner and always down for Marie. Cheers!

I am nowhere close to as entertaining as Doremite but shoot me a pm with your plans when you are in town, should be able to meet you for a beer or two depending on timing and maybe get Peruvian to join.

    Steven has pretty good taste.

5.5% ABV 25 IBU Hellbent Brewing Company Seattle, WA
Steven's Summer IPA is a lighter style IPA with a refreshing floral and fruity hop character. Simcoe, Ekuanot, El dorado and Cascade hops add the hop aromas and pale malt, dextrin malt and a touch of wheat make up the body.

A faint aroma of mild honeydew melon first hits your nose. The resulting flavor is a swirl of mild sweetness and classic coniferous tinged bitterness. The two opposing flavors playfully combat one another on your palate, creating an even tempered lush mouthfeel. There is an ever-so-slight bitter aftertaste that wonderfully compliments the subdued hints of sweetness.

Does anyone else notice they get a bad hangover from hazy IPA's, even after having only 2-3? That shit gives me a soul crushing headache, in addition to having the aesthetic appeal of a pineapple juice and cum smoothie.

Turned down BBCo’s turpene IIPA tonight for the reasons that glademaster mentions.

Maybe I should have picked up that Oh-J as it was in the cooler, too.
