Three more days of lift-serviced skiing are left. August 30 is Closing Day for the 2019-2020 season.

Yes, it is a big flat ballroom floor, but it felt Really Good to be making turns again.

took the shaggen wagon by my buddies raceshop for some wrenchen. Multiple Sierra cars in the shop, a pikes peak class contender corvette, a WRC champion WRX and the illest super built twin turbo cayenne sitting on 33's. Cant go through the rollup without signing NDA and swearing blood oath they have some pikes peak skunkworks going on the other side.

We did the swim last week. It was about 5,500 meters. Conditions were pretty bad especially for the first half. Wind out of the east really kicked up the waves, but it was still fun.

No, was heading to Pro Ski.

I’ve never been in there but it’s on the list

Yikes, round trip I take it? That is a serious swim, even in a pool with nothing to worry about. Very impressive.

This one was a one-way swim. We organized a car shuttle beforehand.

Interesting take. Among the locals, that place is considered an overpriced tourist trap with substandard food.

So where do they think people will be skateboarding, on the grass or the river rocks (or is there something I'm not seeing)?

ETA a review from trip advisor:

    This is not Twin Peaks

I guess, the old diner burned down in 2000 and the new incarnation is probably not much better than the burnt remains.

Between the large amount of buzzing flies, ketchup stains on the wall, dirty tables, filthy knick-knacks, dozens of dusty, greasy Tweety's stuffed toys hanging, mediocre coffee (at best), greasy barely edible food and very overpriced menu, one hardly notices the neon 1980's motif.

I'm glad I didn't order the cherry pie.

Never ceases to amaze me how brown Kamloops is. Might as well be So Cal
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
