I think you should flip a coin to see if you have it or not, if they won't retest him.

Am I understanding the last couple pages of this thread correctly?

I have stepped back from the daily barrage for the last couple of weeks, so please excuse me if this question I have has been covered.

Questions: In compiling percentage mortality stats for Corona19, are only actual deaths being counted? What about deaths that would have occurred sans effective interventions? Are these cases being accounted for?

It seems to me that without hospitalization and therapeutic interventions, the death rate would be much higher. Of course countering this, we still have no real knowledge of the true infection rate of the population due to a lack of availability / accuracy rate of testing that is available.

I have a RP test ran on me every monday at work and haven't popped hot for any of the 27 pathogens (not including covid) and was clean. Yeah lets test him too and team htfb quarenteened until results come back. I got to do the driveup testing at Altaview Hospital. Those nurses are fucking heroes and should be paid 1000 an hour to do those tests. That fucking sinus swab is no goddamned joke and Im coughing and spewing right in their papr'd face and onto their 3 levels of PPE. It was insane.

Nuked the house and cars with a decon protocol that would make CDC proud. Im the only one that leaves the house and travels into hotzones like grocery or bank so I had to be the vector Fuck. Drank too goddamned much last night worried for my kid with asthma my friends who I may not have socially distanced properly from and the potential for my wife to die. I slept downstairs and woke up to the wife sitting in my bed with the laptop on the myhealth wedsite and we are both negative.

    Be well my friends
Could just be a sinus infection or allergies. I deal with both and often have debilitating headaches accompanied by loss of smell/taste.

It really sucks esp. now that this virus is circulating and those are symptoms. Lately I've found some relief from an old fashioned source - a Vicks inhaler stick.

KQ have you ever tried Xlear? Shit's been a lifesaver for me, no sinus infections in the 2 years since I started using it and they were constant and bad before. https://xlear.com/xlear/xlear-sinus-...al-spray.html#

My question involves the true potential mortality rate of the virus which I believe is not accurately portraid due to the availability of modern medical interventions.

    Quote:
The CFR’s denominator—total cases—depends on how thoroughly a country tests its population. Its numerator—total deaths—depends on the spread of ages within that population, the prevalence of preexisting illnesses, how far people live from hospitals, and how well staffed or well equipped those hospitals are. These factors vary among countries, states, and cities, and the CFR will, too. (Majumder and her colleagues are now building tools for predicting regional CFRs, so local leaders can determine which regions are most vulnerable.)
    : End Quote

What this is saying is, is that we don't really have accurate numbers. What it does not say is, should acute cases that require hospitalization be counted as potential deaths when compiling the data?

    I would say yes.

Very early on someone made a back of the envelope calculation of 80,000 deaths minimum. Math at the time seemed reasonable to me then and still does.

I need to try that. Went to the desert last week and the allergies have been off the hook. Even if I don't have the 'Rona, I will because I'm constantly touching my face to blow/wipe my nose and stuff. Headache for the last few days too. I'm probably gonna die. Oh well, it was a good run.

I have not but will look into it. I do use a NeilMed neti.

@KQ: Yeah the spray is what I use I haven't tried their irrigation thing. I have kind of a collection of Neti shit, it was better than nothing, but I've had better results with the xlear twice a day, a good amount of it, like 3-4 sprays each side morning and night.

Weird that it has xylitol. Very poisonous for dogs so be careful if you have a pooch.

Potential deaths. That'd be a strange stat. It's hard to count things that don't happen.

Hello, my name is Buster Highmen and I have allergy problems. Usually late March to mid April I'm sneezing, teary eyed, blowing the schnozz every 5 minutes, just gushing mucous.

Mucous remind me of Mnuchin, I wonder why. So does smarmy and unctuous. Maybe that's his picture in the dictionary?

Anyway, I had used Claritin with some success and wielded the neti pot with viscous abandon.

But still I oozed. It's supposedly some mix of alder, cedar and maple pollen that wastes me. I had no idea broad leaf maples had flowers. Another joke, but I won't go there.

Then I started on consuming local honey with regularity all fall and winter on the morning steel ground oatmeal, those little rocks one boils into submission.

Lo and behold, it seems to have had a beneficial effect. I still have some snot and sneezing, but nothing like I'd had. About 4 or 5 days a year I'll backpedal and resort to Claritin in a fit of muscous, but by and large I'm getting closer to being allergy free.
