Trump is now saying testing is the state’s responsibility, so he can distance himself if it is ineffective.

Yes instead of a coordinated national effort, lets have each state bidding against each other for the reagents, etc?

Why do you prioritize diminishing the lives 10's of millions of kids education, Small Businesses, middle class families etc. for the benefit of boomers the vast majority of which have already achieved their life expectancy and are well within 12-24 months of their return to dust.

Not sure. I was going to say "states that members of 'The Squad' represent" but I don't think Virginia would be one of them.

He just tweeted such. He's actually fomenting revolution in a few swing states.

"Trump tweets to ‘LIBERATE’ states where people are protesting virus restrictions.

Mr. Trump on Friday began openly fomenting far-right protests of social distancing restrictions in states where groups of his conservative supporters have been violating stay-at-home orders, less than a day after announcing guidelines for how governors could decide on an orderly reopening of their communities.
In a series of all-caps tweets, Mr. Trump declared “LIBERATE MICHIGAN!” and “LIBERATE MINNESOTA!” — two states whose Democratic governors have imposed social distancing restrictions that have shut down businesses and schools and forced people to remain at home. He also tweeted “LIBERATE VIRGINIA, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!”
Mr. Trump’s tweets were a remarkable example of a president egging on demonstrators. Earlier this week, more than 1,000 protesters organized by conservative groups created a traffic jam on the streets around the State Capitol in Lansing, to complain that the restrictions were bad for small businesses. Over protesters, not in vehicles, waved banners in support of Mr. Trump and protested Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who has been a target of Mr. Trump’s ire, by chanting, “Lock her up.”"

Edit: whoops, sorry, just woke up from my nap. Hard to keep up. Hey, market is up!

I’ve been saying this for weeks. It’s been the biggest failure of the Federal Govt, behind their complete dropping of the ball in Jan/Feb.

And the lack of PPE. But I remember hearing a few weeks ago that testing was on its way, and they have new tests that only take 15 minutes, stuff like that. Back then I was like "OK cool, things are moving in the right direction" but now 2-3 weeks later, we still can't even get tested unless we get admitted to the hospital. WTF? Hospitals still lack PPE? WTF?

It was obvious from the start. He wants no testing, because more testing means even worse numbers.

deebased - you said the Venn diagram of those saying "stay at home" and those who think abortion is "totally ok" is "one giant fucking circle"

when someone told you that you are wrong and used the example of the pope saying stay at home you then, as you do when you feel threatened or cornered on TGR, switched to whataboutism about how the Vatican has amassed wealth through "largely immoral means" - true but doesn't change the fact you were wrong

when called out on it you've retreated to bragging about having friends who visit often

and now you've resorted to using 1950's life expectancy data and comparing that to your inflated but erroneous percentage of covid deaths in the over 70 age bracket 70 years later to try and prove you're still right about somethings

Do you put on a brave face when your peer group comes over? Can they see on your face that you've been spending all day being wrong on the forums they long ago "abandoned"?

So tonight, he'll stand there and argue with the fake news press that, first, he didnt say that, and then spend a half hour in a word spew saying it, while insulting the Democrats. Rinse, wash, repeat.

Pretty sure he can do no wrong in their eyes so no need to bomb. Haven't heard a one of them recant their support. If anything they are clicking their heels together with their thumbs in their ears and fingers in their eyes while chanting "Benghazi" and "emails" and "fuck Obama."
