I did a Walmart run for my Mom last night. She is in lockdown at her retirement residence so I got her on the phone and together we ordered what she needed then I picked it up and ran it over to her dropping it off at the door. Only problem for me was the damn Walmart guy who brought it to my car had no social distancing skills.

Re getting them to get it - I told my mom to watch PBS BBC America and World News Tonight. I think they give a concise non-emotional account of daily world events. Thought that might help her see the bigger picture.

Still no known cases in Walla Walla county but my throat is feeling scatchy......

We are waiting to hear the results.

Funny thing is, we live couple miles away from mobile testing site they built and it was nearly impossible to get tested.
We called NYS hotline to get an appointment which took us forever to talk to someone.
That someone who obviously temp hire put down bunch of wrong information (we found out when someone else called us back) and gave us no time frame to hear back or get tested.

This sounds delicious.

It is really good.

Juice a small piece of ginger first so that the other veggies continue to flush it through the spinner. I do peel it with a paring knife.

Next is beet - I use about half a 3inch beet (beet is a liver cleanser and it's said you should be careful to not over power your liver. I don't know if that is true or not but I keep the beet small).

Then I add half an apple for a little bit of balance and the rest is as many carrots as I like. My juicer is an extractor so I lose the fiber but I try to make up for that by eating whole fruits and veggies throughout the day.

You can always save the carrot pulp for muffins and breads if you want to capture some of the fiber.

Friend I'm going skiing today with has a brother in law in his final throws of brain cancer today in a hospital in Boston. his wife is not allowed to visit him, at all. So fucking sad.

Talked to my mom the other day. She survived very aggressive breast cancer and then a bad case of encephalitis from West Nile Virus, that has left her in pain ever since. She is 80 and definitely in a high risk situation due to a compromised immune system. She has had a good life, but I hope she doesn't get this shit, as she told me to let her pass at home.
Not shit any of us can do, but try and have a bit of compassion for those less fortunate than ourselves. I hope you all stay well.

Yeah we're having the hardest time telling my 93 year old FIL with dementia that survived Auschwitz then took 2 years to walk across Europe to hop a freighter to the US. from the French coast that he's not "locked up" or in jail. He got here and built a good life and did well for himself and now doesn't understand why he's trapped in his room at the assisted living facility he's at and can't even go for a walk around inside the place and why he's being fed meals on a cardboard tray. It just sux that with all the guy has been through this might be the end for him and he doesn't understand...

We also are starting to have conversations of what to do if either of our parents die from it. Not sure we will even still be allowed to go home and deal...we haven’t talked to them about it yet, though.

I tried to talk about that and I got shut down pretty quickly. My brother and I are going to go over it to figure out what we'll do if our dad gets sick, he's a target for this type of virus on several levels and doesn't quite get it that he can't go and do some things himself but I'm 65 miles away and can't just jump and go do for him although that might have to change.

I've been searching for what happened to a couple of the ones I put out for my cats. I suspect they are stashed somewhere under the bed or in a closet. I kinda freaked about them eating it but then I remembered I've seen my cats eat entire rabbits head first so.......

According to wikipedia plague originated in Kyrgyztan, from where it spread to China. Traces have also been found in prehistoric sites in Sweden. As for the rest of your post--racist bullshit.
