Upper deck looks like a great place to hang out. House has a bit of a tugboat aesthetic...

You can get some cool house if you can stomach Bakersfield.

It's got that kinda eery Kinkead glow, like there's a monster inside. If there was a wisp of smoke coming out the chimney it'd be even scarier.

    Snow makes anything look cool.
Keep it simple in deep snow country--basic box, simple gable roof shedding where it won't do any damage. All those valleys are asking for trouble. Get the curb appeal from good materials and details.

I can see all the icicles hanging off the gutters in the ^^ pict which ain't so cool

I had to put heat trace with a thermostat in mine which was a hassle but now its totally trouble free

No shit. Thanks for the design advice. I still like the aesthetic of the snow, icicles and lighting in this image.

Regarding design criteria, a very common conflict is the aesthetics vs the pragmatic. After the third time of pointing out the downsides of 'we want something like this' in 300 inches per year snowfall, offer different approaches, and the client raise their voices and again state 'WE WANT SOMETHING LIKE THIS'!! You give them what they want and try to protect access points and outdoor spaces and mitigate ice damming issues.

    I like it.

Hard to tell how flat the roof really is but if the slope of the overhang through the kitchen goes all the way back it should be plenty for drainage and it certainly looks like it's built strong enough for heavy loading. I like that it's not on top of the hill and that the roof doesn't project up so it will blend in more than stick out, despite the glass. The wood helps that imo.

That's a bigass sink in the kitchen, I wonder if it's custom, I haven't seen one like it at least.

    Wht's the lower-level siding, Cor-10? Or maybe copper? I can't tell.

Is the glass mirrored or does it just look that way because of the conditions?

But seriously, cool house, cool dog, etc. Does the master bath have showers on both sides, or is one of those sides just glassed in for turd avoidance purposes?

I've been known to call it the Poop Mahal.

Basically for esthetics of the room more than anything else.
