I also almost hit a bird shooting second shot at 18.
Does that count as a birdie?

My long time playing partner has killed one goose and wounded another. Ranger has a bucket for the bodies.

    Fuck yeah

I've gotten out twice here in NY. Swing feeling really solid so it's been a blast even though course is barely ready for golf.

I'll be swinging em in FL next week

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

    Today was just perfect.
Me and my boyfriend paired up with a guy from Scotland who was a really good player with a great temper.
    Our caddies were excellent.
The course (supposedly the hardest in the US which I don’t really agree) was fair.
Even the weather held up after heavy rain yesterday and thunderstorm warning today.
    I couldn’t ask for more.

Turtle Point, a Jack Nicklaus course.
We didn’t play as well as we did yesterday but regardless had a great day at a beautiful course.

That’s the problem with playing a great course like that. It’s hard to go back to playing an ordinary or even a very good course. You keep comparing them to that great course.

I felt the same way after playing Pacific Dunes.

had a free day yesterday so i played 18 and then tried to play 9 more before i had to pick up the boy but only got through 7 (sorry k2skier!).

i parred 7 holes on the first 18 -- by far my best, just missing a couple birdies -- and 2 more on the following 7, including the hardest hole for me on the course. on the first 18, i got to 15 with a chance to shoot 90 (even after a 9 on the hardest -- a par 5) with 3 bogeys and a par and it all came undone. i played out of my mind with my wedges. i stuck at least 3 wedges from 30-50 yards to 3 feet or less and several others that were almost as good. several great chips. unfortunately, i could not make a putt and it killed me.

i've been hitting the ball a lot better since having an inch cut off the shafts and the lie angle flattened 2 degrees.

i have 6 weeks to break 90 before my card expires. one problem is i rarely have a chance to play 18 anymore. but i'm right there. i'm close.Click image for larger version.

I sold a bunch of stuff on EBay. Cleared like $350. Long putters go for stupid good money. If I’m gonna play much again I’ll need lighter shafts so I picked up a real nice set of Titleist 712 AP1’s with 65g graphite shafts. $125. Sweet clubs.

Thanks. Hopefully my back is fixed. Shot 78 with ladies irons from the white tees a couple weeks ago before surgery. It’s fun with no expectations.

    Fore! Who's playing golf, yo-

Played local muni decked out in Masters gear.
After all it was Masters Sunday!
Played like crap because I was completely distracted by what was going on at Augusta National.
What a moment to watch Tiger at 18th hole.
Everybody at the course screamed our lungs out when he finished the putt.
I lost my bet over Molinari but happy for Tiger and happy for my boyfriend.

Nothing like a new driver to make the ball go long and true.

I was looking at your swing. How far do you hit your 7 iron?

The key to breaking 90 is not getting better, it's getting less worse. Fewer "others". It's a game of defense for us mere mortals. Make bogies your friend on the tee and they bring pars with them to the green.

I'm going to practice chipping. The key to breaking 80 is to get better.

i've decided i have to drop bogeys are my friend as my primary thought. i have shown i can make a good number of pars. i think i need to expect to make par when i stand at the tee. if the following shots makes that unlikely, then bogey is my friend. i can't have bogey as my default expectation. i'm giving up the idea that i need to try to break 90 before may 31. i just have to let it happen. nothing good happen when i press.

When you hit your woods, do your misses go to the left or the right?

My chipping was so-so but just as expected at this stage. Working on stance and getting the feel back

To the right most the time.
If I don’t pay attention, slice creeps right out.

I’m working on weight shifting, downswing and contact.

    My chipping’s finally better.
I can actually chip and hit wedges (most times).
    Thank god.

To the right as a push? Goes straight right. Or a slice, starts where you aim and then turns right?
