My bad for assuming that something as simple as a live snow stake can might be off by a few days.

At least Vail finally took it offline and now just shows the Cornice cam twice. Could have saved thousands of dollars and never installed a drake and cam that can’t seem to work properly from day one. And they pay an employee to walk out there and clear it every storm because that arm is broken as well.

Good thing I’m getting live the deck report for this evening. So much more useful.

Thinking I’ll be headed up route 4 tomorrow. Try something different.

FYI: Test drive a tacoma in SLT and get a free squaw ticket, I'm on my way. Not an advertisement.

Both Revision Brewing (Sparks) and 10Torr (Reno) make and serve tasty craft beers. So, too, does Brasserie St. James in MidTown...

And there's an interesting show at The Holland Project on Tuesday night:

Slots, tasty craft beers and Paris-Monster are plan B. Tks!

This one sounds like fun. Plan A is the fly and ski free deal.

This could be part of Plan C. Which dealer? Will they let me test drive in ski boots?

Man, you're sensistive. Just trying to be helpful because I noticed the same thing. Enjoy the snow.

Sac NWS update at 315pm is much higher in volume/quantity than BA morning forecast. Did something change or has this been the case for this storm cycle?

Alpine was surprisingly fun today... if you waited for it. Morning was low visibility, high gusts served on top of cream cheese. Took a break and dried out in the lodge late morning and then went out was rewarded with super fun "powder" laps until 3.

Sat in the rain while we waited for the Funi to open this morning. Soaked but was snowing at the top station. Skied just beyond Shirley Chutes until they closed the zone right about 11am. Grabbed the kid from Mighty Mites at noon and left Squaw just before 1pm. At that point 80 was shut, so had plans to head to 50...checked one last time near Squaw Creek and reopened. As others stated, the sun popped out and only a few slushy spots through chain controls...basically on pavement the entire way. Just over 3 hours drive time back to SF.

Fast forward to weather in SF...its been nuking wind and torrents of rain the last hour.

Such a good day today. Did not expect nearly that much.

I think you read me wrong. Not sensitive, just pointing things out.

I was my bad for not checking time stamp and assuming a live camera was live. That is all.

Think I stayed out too late to enjoy the snow tomorrow. That is my bad as well

    "It's a funny old world".
Not planned so much, as where you actually end up.
Gonna be heading to NS today. From CC,NV.
Driving around a chunk of the Lake, on wintry, chain control roads. Prolly go around the Lake. Wondering if "the long, (but fast driving), way around", on 80, might go better?
    Hmm...

NWS and media did their job hyping up the dangerous road conditions yesterday. Nobody on the road. Left Truckee at 5:30pm and pulled into Auburn at about 7pm. Roads were frozen over summit till just past Cisco Grove. Then slushy down to Drum Forebay.

Jelly. Kids were playing in the snow for a bit while we did SRB laps a couple hours ago. Probably get them out on White Pine or Nob Hill in a bit. Definitely want to at least get on the summit before potential closure later.

18 to 24 where it's blown in. Expected windslabbiness. Watch for density changes within the storm snow. Definitely got noticeably warmer in the just under two hours we were out. Windy as all hell on the ridge.

Alpine was running Roundhouse, Hot Wheels and the Roo. Who ordered 50 million tons of concrete? It arrived over night...yesterday was better and hopefully tomorrow will be too.

Interesting reports. Maybe ya'll just want me to feel good about not heading to the snow today. Gonna got hike to the falls in my back yard this afternoon instead. And I have the mrs. making plans to skip work next Monday. Three day weekend and if the current GFS were to hold, that would be golden.

Looks like BV lost power last night, but they still have their two express lifts running. Funny how such a small, local, not of interest for Wall Street resort can really have their shit together and the giants just don't. It does kind of make sense that the company that owns ABasin is kicking ass at BV. Can this company by my resort please?
