KQ what would you suggest for a slightly suicidal Oregon farmer with anger issues, nasty political beliefs, bad teeth and a drinking problem?

$200 on a Sears gift card to burn before it isn't worth the plastic it's printed on. Shopping 'spree' for the whole family? We could use a new dryer or fridge however I am not thrilled to gamble on the warranty. New pillows and sheets? Power tools?

I don't expect Sears to be around much longer. I will swoop in when they liquidate our local store. At that point the deals are worth not caring about warranties. I witnessed a Sears store in NH in late October that was mid liquidation and it was a sight to behold.

I suppose I could hang on to my card untill then. Worried about not getting my $200. It was part of a reward deal on something I bought this fall.

Well... 'tis the season for good will to men and no one wants to be a Scrooge so I'll take the route of Scrooge's nephew and wish the old bugger a Merry Christmas despite it all. For as Fred says: "he doesn't hurt anyone with his behavior but himself."

    You can shop online still.

Our Sears closed down about 5 years ago and as you said... it was a sight to see. Kinda depressing. Oddly, about a year later they opened a new smaller version that only sold appliances, tools and lawn care items.

Ya. Online. Or in person. I am looking for what to buy with $200 at Sears, not how. Whole family presents. They have an $80 pillow I like. Tools are always good. Craftsman isn't my first choice. However. First $200 is free.

The Sears Home Stores probably- franchised operation (and like they used to have in smaller towns that were not big enough for a full sized Sears store years back when they had the Catalog to order from.. Our Sears closed also and all but 1 KMart (were 4 at the height of their retail) then 3 for a number of years...

Sears sells non-Craftsmen tools too- DeWalt, Makita, Porter, Bosch, Milwaukee and other name brands for power tools as an example. Same for appliances (Kenmore and other brands) There is a $35 off $300 or more purchase coupon if you want something nice- spending $65 or so for $300 worth of stuff sounds like a easy decision.

    $200 or less.

And for the record, the Sears website sucks ass. For starters they run ads. That's a trend that needs to be shot in the back of the head and buried in a shallow grave. And the have a marketplace approach. That trend needs to get buried in the same shallow grave. Yes, you can filter for Sears. However, it really sucks on a phone.

NM. Found coupon for Sears. Which brings up another irritant. Each fucking store has its own fucking app. Website sucks ass? Use the app. Fuuuuuuck yooooooo. How about you write a decent mobile website that I can use on any device I want? Lazy ass fucking programmers, or more likely under-funded development combined with out of touch C Suites. Fuck the fucking fuckers.

If you need auto batteries for a vehicle you plan to keep long term...Diehard Platinum are rebranded Odyssey grid batts with 5 year NQA 100% money back + 5 more years pro-rated - for about 1/2 what Odyssey and others charge.
More than likely output more CCAs @ 0F than lead/acid batt of same Gsize @ 80F. Grid cells can deep cycle many times without losing capacity, too. Badass.

I got it as soon as I went to Sears.com web site. Window popped up with the offer... Not sure how long the offer was going, but Slickdeals.com still shows it: https://slickdeals.net/coupons/sears/?couponid=1899823 also Google reveals some tools only deals out there $15 off $75 or more purchase (again just Google
    Sears Coupons
for a listing of various offers out there.)

No worst than Walmart web site. It even has a hard time filtering stuff they sell vs 3rd party companies. Easiest way is state you want to pick it up today in a store. Or you get 20 others selling the same items unless they are Walmart exclusive brand out there.

Right. Sorry I didn't name Walmart explicitly. They are one of the big offenders I had in mind when I wrote the word trend. Hate their fucking site too. If I am on yourfuckingcompany.com it us because maybe I want to buy something from yourfuckingcompany, and not some shady fuckwit. Which of course makes you a shady fuckwit for selling for them. And yes, I am well aware of what Amazon does in this space. Fuck them all. With a cactus. Sideways.

My goodness... such a Sears melt down!

I guess I thought you meant to apply the $200 to something for the family not spend only $200. In any case there are cheaper options to most of those things I posted. They were only meant as a brainstorming exercise to give you ideas about items that could be used by the entire family together.

    Did you settle on something?

Thanks. KQ. Ya, a little bit of a meltdown. At Sears website. Not you. I can take it elsewhere if this is a family space.

We are probably going to get a Makita combo set of battery powered tools and check out some new bedding, like a mattress cover. Our new mattress is thicc. I found the $35 off $300 or more online only coupon, so $300 worth of stuff for $65 seems like a good deal. Saves us a trip.

    Present/product review!

It's been a week now so I feel I can honestly say these pajamas rock! The thermal top is nice and thick and the flannel bottoms are soft but have weight to them. They also have good length (I'm tall with long legs and arms so often things come up short on me).

I like to be snug-as-a-bug when I sleep during the winter. These thermal/flannel pajamas are perfect.

Holiday Plaid Thermal-Top Pajama Gift Set

A couple years ago I got these:

Wintergreen & Raspberry Plaid Jersey-Top PJs Gift Set

They've stood up well but are lighter than the ones I got this year. Good for Fall & Spring. The wintergreen is a nice bright turquoise-like blue.

I've got at least half a dozen Pajamagram pajamas and all have been well made. The only issue I've ever had is with some of the shorts - they are REALLY short.

Also, for you guys out there, I gave these as a gift and the recipient LOVED them. My farrier had recommended them - says he lives in them during the colder months. Fit is true to size though Carhartt does seem to like a shorter rise than other manufacturers.

Stuff looks cozy. We go with flannel sheets and two Hudson Bay wool blankets. Didn't need any Xmas help this year as I was given a list. The 7 y o grand kid was stoked that Santa could find the same pitching wedge grandma had lost. So now I have 12 days until her birthday that ends in an 0. She mentioned an interest in a Kimono but she's been on opiates from a foot operation and found out yesterday that she needs to wear her brace for 4 more weeks will be needing me to drive her around. I got her snow shoes last year if that helps.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
