You're probably right - it'll just make traffic worse as more cars head in and back out for the day. Which, if you're living in a neighborhood where there's a party across the street every night, probably isn't that bad of a trade off.

OFFICIAL TAHOE 18/19 STOKE, CONDITIONS, WEATHER THREAD

A $1million dollar spec house was built right next door to me last year (Meyers). Owners from the Bay Area haven’t been in the house since they bought it in the spring.

Two more nearly $1mil spec homes just finished within a block of me, with at least another on the way.

Not saying this construction is directly due to T, obviously, but my guess is they’ll be filled with STRs more often now.

As much as I love the housing talk, and there is a strong corollary to Santa Cruz, y’all talking so much your sustaining a high pressure around the basin. This is a stoke thread man. Does anyone have some stoke?

Fantasy runs last night show a big storm sometime this winter. Vague to avoid jinx talk, which is also hocus pocus.

KW started making snow, which is a waste of money, but hey, some get stoked on that shit. Gonna get real soon.

Surf has been poorer this past week. But it is still autumn out there. Cool crisp mornings and fine afternoons. Bike trails are a bit dry in these parts, but it’s still all good.

Anyone have pics of hope valley colors? Lake shore sunsets? Dogs or bikes?

Fall’s been so nice I’m ok if it doesn’t snow for awhile.

    ^^^^Those are great pictures.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

There's a Fund Raiser Movie for SAC on Friday at Alibi Ale Works, in Incline Village. Doors at 6, movie 7:30. $5

*"Before Blank" is a "light-hearted ski film" that tells the origin story of Blank Collective, a group of North American skiers who aim to share their love of skiing through video and imagery.

The movie features Alexi Godbout, Vinnie Gagnier, KC Deane, Josh Daiek, Mike Henitiuk and Max Morello

The screening is part of Local Freshies Lord of the Boards Movie Tour.*

Isn't Josh Daiek some kinda hero around here?

Not that you shouldn't see it on a larger screen and support SAC, but also available here. It's a good one...

Working on top of Kingsbury today and it’s damn cold. Was wondering if the temp listed on heavenly’s website is at summit or down in town.

Not sure what that means. Heave www said it was 38 which seemed possible, with the wind, to feel as cold as it did (without winter acclimation). But then again my iPhone didn't die so it was obviously above 55.

    Thanks Turx.

I don't know if Google has the answer but THIS is an important question:

Down south too, ugh. Some friends in Thousand Oaks are pretty sure they lost their home, and they just mandatory evacuated Malibu. Shit is out of control.

Sorry for my poor international relations, but why are they evacuating people in those areas? is it something not related to the shooting?

GFS model shows a storm for Tahoe & Mammoth on Sun November 18.

Fingers crossed, and keep sacrificing pigeons to the snow gods Ozzy style, Maggots!

On my way to the Bay Area this evening I noticed that Boreal is up and running with a WROD and integrated TPOD accessible via the "Castle Peak" lift, fwiw.

That “storm” was a weak shortwave between a dying system inland and a cutting off low to the west. I wouldn’t count on it. When the ridge moves out near the aleutians around thanksgiving, that’s a really good sign that we get something significant.

    The good old days.

I was going through some old pics today and saw these, taken exactly three years ago today Nov 10, 2015.

Turned out to be a pretty fun day. Looking back at ski tracks, I had gotten in 10 days by the end of November 2015 that year.

Fast forward three years to the same date as the pics above. Today on Galena Creek trail. At least the Mtn biking is still good.

The storm window from the 21-25 seems to be sticking around... hopefully it cools down some.
